Thank u for the playlist of semiconductors sir. It helped a lot.👏 The way u teach is also considerably good. But u also need to use little hindi.

Sir what if one wants to decrease the conductivity?
@satyakamdash2052
@satyakamdash2052 5 жыл бұрын
Add less atom of phosphorus it will produce less free electrons so the charge carriers also less and conductivity decreases

@7:10 How the ni^2 is constant . because , "if we increase the number of electron how the number of hole value get reduced ". And how it(ni^2) will be constant always. It wouldn't possible in practical .please correct if I am wrong.
@Sandeep-iq4bh
@Sandeep-iq4bh 4 жыл бұрын
According to me It's right because let's suppose there are (n) electron and (m) holes then number of holes will decrease as filled by electron means if we are increasing the number of electron then holes occupied by them and hence tends to decrease but not equal to zero. That's why Sir is saying ni^2 remain constant. Hope you will get my point.

@@Sandeep-iq4bh if holes are reduced by electrons then no. Of electrons too will not remain 40000 on adding 30000 electrons because as per you some will be taken by holes. I am confused
@suckerpunch1646
@suckerpunch1646 3 жыл бұрын
@@crischalneupane9125 Holes aren't actually positive charges in that sense, they are the ABSENCE of negative charges. So they can be reduced by replacing them with electrons. So even if we use the electrons the neutralize the charge, the electron still exists but the hole wouldn't

We mix 30,000 phosphorus they give 30,000 electrons thats ok but sir now u are saying that holes will decrease ? If holes decrease it requires electron , where does those electron come from which neutralise the hole?
