Katie thank you so much for taking the time to deconstruct, record and upload these videos. I've loved watching them and learning so much about Balanchine choreography and the amazing skills the dancers have to attain for Nutcracker. Wishing you Chris, Finn and family a very Merry Christmas! Thank you again ❤

Can we all take a moment to appreciate how damn poised those kids playing the prince and Marie are! They’re so young but they already have the gravitas of fully grown professionals. That little boy truly looks like he got plucked out of the Victorian era and onto a stage in 2011

Thank you, Kathryn. Thank you so very much. You make ballet accessible for newbies like me. I appreciate the time and effort you poured into these deconstructions. It’s helped me appreciate the dancers so much more and pulling away the curtain helps me understand the choreography. I noticed a moment at the party scene in our local Nutcracker when some dancers were standing very close together and I knew what was coming. Looking forward to next year’s ballet breakdowns. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

Thank you Kathryn😊 This series is a wonderful Christmas gift from you to us❤. I think that this will become a classic on KZbin. Your detailed and insightful and generous commentary sets a standard for all. And the cherry on top is your amazing memory for the NYCB production, even though your time with the company was so sadly cut short due to your illness😢. But Brava, Katie❣️

Dear Kathryn, What a work of love to deconstruct Balanchine's The Nutcracker for us. I have learned so much, and in doing so I have appreciated the choreography and the skill of the dancers, even more than I did before. Some comments from me: as you were dissecting Teresa Reichlen's turns in the finale, I kept on thinking of the skirt whipping around with her, and I thought something else to contend with. In an earlier segment on Mother Ginger, you said that since the dancer is on three foot stilts he receives hazard pay therefore do the children who are the Prince and Marie also receive hazard pay because of flying in the sled in the finale? When you have time, I am here for whatever ballet you deconstruct. Sending Greetings to you and Christopher for a Blessed and Joyous Christmas.

Merry Christmas Katie!! I'm not sure if you knew but the credits at the end of the recording list the Spanish Corps as Ashly Isaacs instead of Megan Johnson. The whole recording is available in excellent quality on Marquee TV, as well as so many other ballets from other companies that I'm sure you'd like! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and new year :)

Is the video available of Sophia from en pointes nutcracker available anywhere? Because that may have the updated chinese on it. It's not on KZbin but it exists because they released it during Christmas a few years ago and then it disappeared. It was the entire nutcracker not the series which also disappeared
