Looks like Erskine Hawkins, trumpet; Buddy Tate,tenor; Claude Williams,fiddle;Jay McShann and his orchestra. Anybody know where or when?

@@veselkamileva8752 Ernie Hawkins (trumpeter) composed this classic, and made famous by the Glenn Miller band, the rest is history. G’day & Cheers!

@@ronaldunkel2681 Actually, Hawkins did not compose this piece. One of his saxophonists, Julian Dash, probably came up with the original riff, which was modified by Hawkin's clarinetist, Bill Johnson. Hawkins had nothing to do with the writing of the song or the arrangement. His name is on as composer because, in those days, bandleaders often put their names on songs as the price for playing an original composition. Then one of Glenn Miller's saxophonists heard this and brought it to his boss--and Miller's version became the fastest selling record in history up to that time.. Everyone made out well from this mixture of events.

Erskine Hawkins musical genius and composer and band leader owns the rights to this famous song “Tuxedo Junction” and the Erskine Hawkins version is the ORIGINAL.
