I've been thinking of buying an OLED. I'm beginning to think (based on comments from OLED owners) It may not be much if any of an upgrade over my current plasma.

@@cashwise7614 i have a Panasonic plasma from 2013, a Panasonic oled from 2022. honestly I was still disappointed... no 3d... but especially on oe filmaker 4k which is normally the most beautiful image that is made. the image is superb yes but barely more than on full 1080p bluray sometimes no difference! on the other hand, for video games, the oled is really superior to the incomparable plasma. I prefer the cinema image of plasma, it's really real cinema! the oled is very good for avatars of marvel digital films etc... I have both I'm really more of a fan of plasma 😊 hoping to help you in your choice!

We have a 720p 2010 Panasonic plasma & it has blown out of the water every 4k tv I've put against it. The only tv's that will be able to compete are Oled's & very expensive LED/LCD tv's. The Plasma tv in this demo killed the TCL 5 series and it wasn't close imo.

This is my second test against LCDs. I have to agree with you. I got caught up in the 4K HDR Dolby vision hype with but the old plasma still has a better picture.

Plasma TVs look better than every modern display. I own an LG CX and a Samsung QN90B and I still think my Pioneer and Panasonic plasmas produce a more pleasing picture with better motion. That said, I actually think the QN90B comes closer to the plasmas than the CX. Which is not what I expected.

The 1 thing will say about lcd led that is good it extremely hard to have permanent image retention it is inferior to plasma technology I don’t like oled technology but I’m definitely interested in micro led technology all the pros but no cons and will it be the nail in coffin for projectors I have a jvc nx5b front projector

I do agree with that. Although it's not easy to burn in a plasma or OLED you do have to be aware of it.

Can't stand the local dimming turned on on the mini LED TVs the yellow edge blurring on moving objects against a brighter background is terrible

@@cashwise7614 ive done it in store. They all do it when local dimming on. Oleds And plasmas dont. Just look at a plasma screen wipe test. Black screen with white moving bar

You also should turn if off to prevent LED ageing variation. If they always have the same brightness, there is much less chance you get dirty screen effect after a year or so.

Mini led is a recipe for dirty screen effect. Especially when combined with local dimming. Because all minileds will have variation on time on, they will age differently, and you will see that after a year or so. CCFL perfoms best when it comes to even backlighting of a LCD panel. But this video makes me really curious about plasma.

Interesting. Thanks for your comment. Most of the responses favored the plasma TV. It definitely has more saturated colors. For me it's the plasma. I'm glad there are some voices out there that like the LCD. That five series is quite a deal, especially considering the price.

You can always turn saturation down, but not up. QLED should be good when it comes to gamut. Normal LED is horrible when it comes to gamut. Overall cyan-greenish tint, yet bad greens and even worse reds. But in the end the software is the nail on the coffin for every modern TV. Spyware and ads ruin every modern TV. You are kind of forced to look for monitors if you are serious about privacy and lifespan, and loathe planned obsolescence.

Actually, I've been using the TCL in my secondary TV and it's pretty decent for an LCD. But I definitely agree with you. The plasma has a better picture in my opinion as well.
