Love those vintage ads Fred! Kim Basinger is in the ad for Maybelline Fresh and Lovely makeup. Barrie Youngfellow is the kid's mom in the Anacin ad where the kid and Grandma are playing video pong. By the way, Marilyn Cormier in that Bell ad was employed in my hometown, Brockton MA. Danny Wells from the Mario Bros. TV show is the main performer in that Kmart ad, and Johnny Haymer from MASH makes an appearance too.

TVs were crafted works of art, Polyester was King, imagination was coveted. I remember alot of these and enjoyed watching alotb of the shows advertised. I could hardly wait each week to watch the Bionic Woman and Six Million Dollar Man, and was totally captivated by Star Wars at the time. I'll admit now, they seem way 'cheesey', but back then it was a lot of fun. Compared to now though, it all does seem like a long time ago in some other Galaxy far, far away! Another nice set, Fred! 3:31 - Ronny Graham was a consultant, writer & actor on MASH. In fact, he had a nice guest-starring role in "Your Hit Parade", which he wrote, as a drunk blood donor who hated needles. 5:31 - Though I missed it & don't really care that I did, that Star Wars Holiday Special had to be a unique experience. I think FLYING HIGH had a nice theme tune, even if the show wasn't that good. 7:17 - It's nice that Eve Arden & Gale Gordon had an OUR MISS BROOKS reunion here. 10:00 - I was in the audience for "Lucy Comes to Nashville" & still have a ticket from the show. I think people who attended the other night got a better show than we did. 13:08 - I'm pretty sure that's Johnny Haymer (Sgt. Zale from MASH) as the guy on the telephone pole. I miss K-Mart.

French horns, happy chorus singing, giddy smiles, major chords....so much the sound of '70's commercials and tv shows! Immediately recognizable as relics of that era. Funny that last spot about "women behind the wheel"/sign of those times. Wow, I never bought any of the name brand products as shown in the commercials nor did I watch any of those TV shows. There was less time to watch TV. Life changed during college, marriage, getting involved in various social activities, and working in a field where we left not at a specific time but when the problems were solved. In connections to the commercials in the video, I did get an offer from SW Bell to work on that switching equipment and another offer from Bell Labs to do "stuff". I am glad that I didn't take either. Even then that switching equipment looked pretty old. And the hiring VP from Bell Labs seemed too interested in when I was going to get pregnant, quit, and never return to work since I had gotten what every Southern girl was after - my Mrs. Degree! Turns out that I didn't have to watch "Dallas" because I ended up accepting a job and living there. Let's just say that it really was a playground for the rich. I think that tire ad is from the mid 70's. I remember being amused. More stellar work, Fred!

Everything then seemed to be about being in good spirits. Today it's all about checking the politically correct agenda boxes. the only humor presented is snarky and as they say "Cringe" where men are made to look like fools and the family unit (when represented) looks like some sort of bizarre science experiment!
