These are my off-air tropo and e-skip recordings from North Massapequa. They are posted here for nonprofit educational purposes only.
Stations included: CBWFT-7, WLBT, KATC, KYW, WCAU, WNJT, WUTB, WNJS, WPPX, WPVI, WJZ (and unfortunately WNET)

Now THIS really brings back memories! I’m an early-mid 2000s kid and seeing all these NJ/ Balitmore stations is a trip down memory lane. Digital is NOT better!

Thanks for posting these great videos. I used to DX with my deep fringe Channel Master U/V combo antenna at my old house in S.E. Baltimore. I experienced reception from these stations myself. Somewhere I have a tape with lots of DX. Thanks again! Additionally WUTB was a great station until Fox sold it for peanuts 🥜 to Sinclair which basically killed it. They are probably going to bring it back under the ATSC 3.0 system. WUTB is currently a sub channel within WBFF Fox 45/Residing on R F 26.

The original version of this video still cracks me up because I remember that the dx footage for WCAU and WNJT were perfectly linked together, making a sentence that said "He had everything to build a Crocodile"

I guess Philadelphia was in pretty much every other day.

From about 12 miles West of Massapequa in Nassau County ( near the Queens /NYC border), I was able to get WCAU Channel TV in Philadelphia every day. Many days with a clear signal or close. WPVI Channel 6 in Philadelphia came in most days, but it was a weaker signal. KYW Channel 3 in Philadelphia was the weakest of these 3 VHF Stations from Philadelphia, as anything close to a clear picture was the exception.

The first 3 channels there was caught via Sporadic-E propagation The other ones via Tropospheric propagation (AKA Tropo)
