I feel better than I ever have. I run 10k about 5-6 mornings a week before breakfast and lift weights three times a week. My best advice is to eat as much variety as possible. I base the quality of every meal on how many different vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains I can fit in it.

I'm 30 years old and have just turned vegan. Having pets in my home who I consider family, who I love and grieve when they pass helped change me. I couldn't look at them and continue to eat meat. I own guinea pigs, in some countries, they are food. I asked myself could I eat them, no, I couldn't. the truth is, they are no different to cows or pigs or chickens. It hurts to see what humans do to other species. I'm a little lost to what to eat though. haha I'm still learning. Tim your awesome.

I really like to see a TV host be human, make mistakes, be truly surprised ...and he really tried the food with more than one bite ...

I love jack fruit it is so versatile. You have to get the young (unripe) jackfruit to make the bbq jack fruit. I have served this to meat eaters and they did not know it was jack fruit.

Very cool! I grew up with Jackfruit in Indonesia. All Southeast Asians and Indians grew up with jackfruit so we've been using them as meat substitute for years. We are globally connected now that our food source is from across the oceans.
@todaysrealhealth81538 жыл бұрын
Agree. Time to have jackfruit frozen meals replace GMO soy for meat.

Transition foods not necessary. My wife and I did an overnight change, steaks one day, vegan the next. Yes, we almost immediately got bad colds, ha ha, I hear detox is normal. But after that, no problems at all. That was May '12. No special requirements except we take a B12 tab a few times a week, which is tiny, and tastes good just like a sweet tart.

I'd refrain from generalising like that, the chef in this video said himself that it's a good way to get your kids into healthier eating by making vegan versions of foods they like. I can't speak for the entire vegan population, but I personally avoid processed foods and keep a strict whole-foods vegan diet. But I'd rather someone ate a diet of vegan alternatives than one that came from suffering and torture.
@PsychoRaptor11712 жыл бұрын
I never ate transition foods. I'm not truly vegan or vegetarian though: I'll still eat meat and/or dairy if I go out to a restaurant depending on their menu, but I follow a vegan diet at home (i.e. most of the time). Anyway, no transition foods for me, there was maybe a week or two where I went from omnivore to vegetarian, and then after that I went to vegan.

13% never eat meat in the US? LOL, who gave you that bogus stat? You'd have to be a total idiot to even think that could be realistic, It's less than 5%, but most of them are culturaly vegetarian through religion, not because they hate the meat industry... And less than 1/300 ppl are vegan in the US and 1/1000 in Australia was what I was talking about.
