After three years on air, shows go into syndication so networks could rerun them and get audiences in an afternoon/early evening time slot. The original show got money from the syndication. That's how Star Trek became popular, even though the show had already ended. Watching them at 3, 4, 5 or 6pm every day.

When I found out that Tony Danza was in this show as well as Angels In the Outfield I was like wow that is pretty cool that they were on the same show together and then later down the road were in a movie together. I love Angels In the Outfield. Also, another thing I found out, never watched Spin City, but someone told me that Christopher Lloyd guest starred on that show and the reason why I mention it is that Michael J. Fox was on that show.
