Eeee this never gets old, absolutely hilarious. Used to watch this with my beloved grandad every Saturday night in the 70s.

Even the Irish loved Dick Emery. As a child I watched him because the adults could not get enough of him. I loved all his charactors. That's how good he was in that he could play all thoes charactors to perfection. He was one of the greatest. God bless the man.

So sad that mainstream tv stations, take offence to Dick Emery, Benny Hill, and Alf Garnett, yet have no problem showing filth and smut. , in so called modern tv series, which don't even deserve the title of comedy. The aforementioned comedians brought two much laughter and happiness to so many people, and their legacy,s will live on.

It's my belief that writers and producers these days are playing out thier own fantasies through smut and general nastiness. I'm 53 and all I watch is old comedies.

It was the Americans who began the PC movement in the 1980s and yes, pointing fingers at the world while denying the filth they peddle out to the world!

I've just looked at the BBC genome site and the original programme was first shown in June 1973. This broadcast, introduced by 1950s continuity announcer Sylvia Peters, was shown during celebrations of 50 years of BBC TV on Tuesday 4th November 1986.

There are two types of comedians. Personality comedians such as Tommy Cooper and Bob Monkhouse where they are always themselves and it is they who carry their act and then there’s character Comedians, whose comedy comes from the different characters they portray like Benny Hill and Russ Abbott. But Dick Emery was in a league of his own, the funniest character comedian that ever lived.

I remember all these wonderful shows 1st time around, they have aged like fine wines, I was worn out laughing which I never do with tv these days, let’s hope there is a revival someday to proper comedy, you forget what hilarious laughter is all about until you see this type of show.

Dick Emery could have been an excellent character actor had he not been such a success doing comedy caricatures ..at his best he was brilliant. ..sometimes better than the writing ...anyways thanks to the BBC in its heyday making anothe rmuch loved star
@stepheng87792 жыл бұрын
He'd just found success doing precisely that when he sadly died.

We loved him as an actor but in reality, he was a hugely selfish, sex-obsessed individual whose woeful neglect of his only daughter - indeed, the neglect of all of his children - caused so much emotional turmoil it has taken Eliza his youngest the best part of her adult life to come to terms with it.

How the whole world needs to go back to this kinda comedy they would call racist sexist ,ect but back them everyone just laughed I'm Irish myself and dick Emery took the piss out of so much I diddent care I just laughed so much I loved Mick o tick the famous Irish detective apsaloutly brilliant also my favourite character was collage the tramp and old me ladeick they were my two favourites for me dick Emery never got the credit he deserves he was right up there with the best when I feel down I just put on these old videos and it takes me right back to a far better time when we all laughed at each other now I have to think before you can even open your mouth or laugh it's so sad the world is gone like this we better enjoy these old clips before the snowflake generation take them down the English have the best comedy in the world well right up to the 2000s after that comedy finished does anyone remember the likes in Dad's Army, Faulty Towers, Porridge,likely lads,fools and horses ,open all hours these are only a few great comedy's I no I haven't mentioned loads more it's such a pity we can't watch comedy's like these no more because it might offend someone so thank you so much for putting up this great video keep showing them and to hell with the snowflake generation find something else to ruin
