BKO, you are not being forthright. NNPC does not have the authority to subsidize on their own whim. The people who complained were saying "If NNPC is subsidizing, let them tell Nigerians." It should be budgeted and transparent. You cannot say "Subsidy is gone" in the morning, and then start paying subsidy via the backdoor in the evening. That's not how to run a nation - and I'm sure you know it. By the way - I am a firm believer in deregulation. NNPC should get out of the business of selling fuel. I fully support the "willing buyer willing seller" model. The APC already got the process of removal wrong (and so they have shocked the economy into a depressive state). Let them leave petrol alone - just like diesel. Nigerians will be fine.

You TVC anchor journalists are simply concerned about the selfish interests of Tinubu, your employer. You are completely skewed. Babajide Abeg leave the NNPCL / DANGOTE / Nigerian consumer issue. Peter Obi said he supports removal of subsidy on petroleum products but after removing the criminalities & corruption syndrome in the up & downstream sectors of the economy. Tinubu has refused to touch the cabals perpetrating criminality & corruption in the sectors bcos he has been a beneficiary of the rots.
