How she can speak so candidly with honest insight and detail with very little time needed to reply to the excellent questions speaks volumes about her integrity and knowledge. Her speaking and her feelings about filming a live show are well thought out and brilliantly stated so all can easily understand the reasons behind her answer. A most excellent interview of a most charming and smart lady!

Anne was a truly beautiful women with an unmistakable voice. I saw an IMDB list of the top 100 Science Fiction movies of all time and Forbidden Planet wasn't even on the list. Gravity, Interstellar, Cloverfield, Signs were on the list but none of the old wonderful movies were included. The original Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Them, This Planet Earth and The Day The Earth Stood Still were all left off. Disgusting. Forbidden Planet still does get played on TV throughout the year and I look forward to it. When Anne makes her entrance after lunch you know right where you are. When the planet blows up at the end of the movie you can see the loss in her eyes and her shaken body. I'm thankful it is being safely stored away so an appreciative audience can see it in the future. R.I.P.

I really admire Anne Faancis, and thought I'd see her in some KZbin viseos, and I am not disappointed. As a side note, a month ago I know a lady who caught pneumonia. She had lung cancer diagnosed over a year ago. She was a heavy smoker. Her doctor warned her, and she had prescriptions costing several thousand dollars MONTHLY. A couple months ago she was admitted for this pneumonia, and stayed in the hospital and a rehab convalescent home to gain her strength. She was later released, and 4 days of beng in her own home, she had a stroke. She was on oxygen, and CONTINUED to smoke. Dr said her oxygen levels dropped. I visited her at the hospital, and her face is terribly swollen due to medications. She didn't open her eyes, or even knew my wife and I were there. Ann Francis was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer, and had surgery for lung cancer and also chemotherapy. She died ofn pancreatic cancer. But kow that smoking is never worth it. Look how quickly Miss Francis was eager to smoke. Nothing good comes from it. So sad.

IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THAT STUNNING YOUNG BEAUTY FROM "FORBIDDEN PLANET" WAS ALMOST SIXTY YEARS AGO.. SHE STILL LOOKS JUST AS FRESH, COLOURFUL AND NEW WHEN I WATCHED IT LAST WEEK. I'LL NEVER FORGET WHEN I FIRST SAW HER ON THE BBC IN 1984 DURING THEIR SCIENCE FICTION SEASON. WHAT AN ETERNAL IMAGE OF FEMALE BEAUTY1

To me Forbidden Planet has surpassed being just a cult classic. It's simply a CLASSIC Sci-Fi film, period (which means it can be compared to the best in any other movie genre).

Acting & writing are terrible, compare to Day the Earth Stood Still.
@jessfrankel52125 жыл бұрын
Forbidden Planet had some amazing special effects, but the acting was very generic, if not downright poor in most cases save Walter Pidgeon as Morbius, and the direction lagged. Their director--Fred Sears--was no match for any of his contemporaries. I enjoyed the movie, but it really isn't a classic at all. Fun, yes, but nowhere near a classic. If you want to compare it to the other great films of that era, go ahead. The Day The Earth Stood Still--that's a classic. It Came From Outer Space--far better. There are others, but those two could be considered classics. Not Forbidden Planet, not by a longshot.

When I was little I WANTED TO BE A DETECTIVE WITH A PET OCELOT! Anne Francis was the coolest human on Earth in her show "Honey West" and one of the most beautiful women on the planet. I also thought she must have been the inspiration for the face of the original Barbie Doll; an uncanny resemblance between Miss Francis and the doll even if she wasn't.
@curbozerboomer17735 ай бұрын
You really hit on something!...she played a mannequin in an episode of Twilite Zone named "After Hours"...She did indeed, in that last shot, look a lot like Barbie!...Anne was, IMO, just as beautiful as MM, Sophia, etc. Absolutely a "perfect" female!

@curbozerboomer17735 ай бұрын
She only did two episodes...but of course, she guest-starred on many other popular series during her career on TV, which she embraced totally. Hollywood seemed to pass her by in the very early 1960s, so she worked for many years in "guest star" roles. She died from lung cancer/pancreatic cancer at age 80. She may have been a "spiritual" person, but she still must have suffered horribly from the ravages of that disease. She was a heavy smoker for most of her life.

Easily in the Top 5 "Most Beautiful Woman" ever to grace this planet, probably in the Top 3. She is right up there with Hedy Lamarr, Vivien Leigh, Elizabeth Taylor and Gene Tierney. It's my opinion but check out her photos from the early 1960's and I doubt any will disagree.

I am absolutely in agreement with you ! Why she did not become as famous as those other ladies, is a mystery to me! Nobody sexier than Anne was, in her 20's and 30's...and she aged better than the others, retained her fetching beauty well into her 50s.

Elizabeth Montgomery and Anne Francis were the two predominant TV actresses of the day. My tastes in TV leaned toward Miss Francis. Let's not forget her performance in "Jezebel." And, of course, maybe we can forgive her for "Honey West."

The body can tolerate some toxicity to some degree. We don't know how much she was smoking. The body needs needs the ability to cleanse itself. When it's younger n healthier it's better able. She seems not a heavy smoker here; one puff does not a heavy smoker make. Smoke is simply an irritant which many other things are too; dusts, powders, aerosoles etc
