@JBliehall

Walter, and worse, that's all the public in general seems to want. The song, "Greenback Dollar" had a line [I don't give a damn about a greenback dollar....] and the Kingston Trio had to strum over the word "damn" because it was too profane. Now they sing about shooting cops and having sex with your mother and that is acceptable. Certainly not the world I knew as a kid.
@davemelges4659
@davemelges4659 4 жыл бұрын
There's exactly as much tv today, without "filth and profanity" as there was back then. What's been ADDED, is a lot of tv that doesn't try ridiculously hard to pretend like sex doesn't exist. People who believe cowboys don't swear are probably too dumb for good tv.

Hollywood has fallen, crashed, and is only in its first faze of burning! Actors and Actresses of today have fallen from Grace and seriously disgust me!! There are a few with integrity, but Hollywood quickly dispose of the good ones once they show any signs of integrity, honesty, or any kindness and goodness. Such a shame! They really think they can control us by what they put out. My husband and I refuse to go to movies!

I just knew that James was going to be missing his pants in that final clip. James had a very funny side to him, and was said to be prone to going into giggle-fits easily. His serious 'Matt Dillon' character was also hardened by dying his hair dark brown from his natural blond color, fairly typical of his Scandinavian/German-heritage. Still, it's difficult to imagine a 6'-7" tall blond Viking dude giggling! Sadly, hardly any of his contemporaries is still alive to recount James' reputed good-nature.

His son did a mini- tribute to him on the "Encore" Western movie channel before an episode began by saying his Dad loved to eat and he'd finish his plate of food and then started eating the other actors food while they said their lines. He also said his Dad was a big practical joker on the set. Unfortunately James Aurness had two sons and I cannot remember the name of the son who did it. Has anyone else seen this tribute?
