Avantha did bad things, but he was never a bad person. A bad person wouldn't find a place to stay, pay for rent, food, and clothes for a random girl. Especially if he knows he can get any girl he wants. If I recall correct, he didn't start becoming mean to Samalka until she started her prissy attitude towards him rolling her eyes at everything he said and getting with Anuhas when he repeatedly asked her (sometimes nicely) not to. That is one of the reasons I dislike Samalka. She played a part in turning Avantha into this 'bad person' just like his parents. His parents brainwashed him as a child with absolutely horrible advices and being piss poor role models, Samalka used him to get what she wanted but never did she try, like genuinely try, to help him find himself without being Ravi's puppet. I really hope they show us a flashback moment of little Avantha doing something nice and thoughtful for someone else to see who the real person living inside of him is.

If I'm not mistaken, Avantha started spending for Samalka way before his parents got involved. His parents wanted him to stay with her after their relationship was already on the rocks and he grudgingly gave Samalka a voucher or something but that was way way after. He helped Samalka just as she moved to Colombo. And I know he's no saint, I'm not saying he was good, I'm simply saying he isn't a bad person. For a lot of the bad things he did, he asked what he should do and someone had to tell him whether it was Ravi, Amisha or Sheran. I could be wrong though, I skip a lot of Samalka scenes.

He thinks samalka put up with his abuse because of his money (he has ASSAULTED her in the past) he thinks anuhas never retaliates because of his money, he thinks that he is always forgiven because of his money.. devmi fascinates him so much because she has shown him by word and deed that she does NOT give a flying fish about his gold. The point I'm trying to make is, Avantha is NOT THAT good... He isn't a saint, I'm not even sure he had any good hidden in him to be "discovered" by Devmi. It was instilled in him by her... He was bad, he however is changing 😍and I lose it whenever he is onscreen 😂
