I don't believe her. Shepherd claims she ' rescued ' Jane and Roman , but we learned in 3x13 and 3x22 that Hank Crawford was the one who built the facility they were taken to and that he was the originial financial backer of Sandstorm. If Shepherd really rescued them why would she turn around and go to the man responsible for what happened to them for money to fund her organization? Then when she took Avery away from Jane / Remi , Avery just happened to be adopted by Hank Crawford's right hand man , Bob Drabkin? There's no way that was accidental.
