In 1985 this show became a MASSIVE hit, no one had ever seen older women portrayed like this before. They were sexually active, they were always talking about sex, they would insult each other quite savagely, and the show dealt with topics that were groundbreaking. What really made the show such a big hit was that it appealed to all ages. I was in high school in 1985-1990 and most of the kids watched it, and quoted from it.

Unfortunate it is true that some people in places like Alabama and in North York too might believe when first meeting a character like Dorothy only a lot younger -- would make a really good nurse to people living in a nursing home when trying to hide what they are really thinking about concerning the people whom they are caring for the whole time there. While characters like Sophia only a lot younger would be a good hire to serve as a psychiatrist too. Both always hiding their true thoughts about whom they insist they need to be paid in order to keep on serving them. I heard ahead of time on the internet that care giving school has way more than one younger than me student character like that who is determined to stand out among the rest. I better be prepared when working on myself in care giving school well enough instead of dreaming how well I am and how I will in the' future stand out among the rest.
