My only concern would be who makes the power plant and parts availability here in Alberta or the rest of the country. I realize that is tracked vehicles being used in the oil patch but I don't know if there is scaled down versions for the recreational market. Just my two cents.

as a sport item it doesn't fit. If it was fully enclosed with heat... then it would have a use as a rescue vehicle, pulling a trailer that was also heated it could be used as a "centerpoint" for skidoo group, so if a storm rolled in or someone got hurt, or to cold, they could be moved "inside" a heated compartment. the Snowbulance trailer for example would pair great, as you could have a 2-3 people sitting in there for heat OR carry a stretcher there for injuries. Add to that, people who live in off grid cabins who have to bring family up to or back from a cabin in an emergency, a fully enclosed cabin would protect from extreme cold and allow the travel to and from. (leading almost to the requirement that the heat be separate from the engine, for example a Diesel heater 2kw, fed from a battery that could be charged from the snomobile. giving the user several DAYS of heat in a true emergancy such that if trapped in a serious blizard... they could simply shut off the engine and run the heater on battery and its own fuel for days if needed till rescue could arrive.

I saw one of these once. The speedometer went up to 200. Anyone know what the deal with that was? I dont think this thing could get up to 200 even if it was dropped out of a plane.

Maybe it was Kilometers and not 200 miles per hour?

It'd probably go 300+ mph out of a plane, a skilled full-figured-Human with a cone-head-helmet in a straight head-down dive made it to 350 mph several years ago. Once that thing got to tumbling,,,,,,,, WOW, it'd make quite the crater!!

@@IowaDiver no. I don’t think so. Lol. It’s not a skilled human with a special helmet. It’s a big machine creating a ton of drag. A non skilled human just free falling reaches a terminal velocity of about 150mph. If I knew it’s mass we could probably figure it out. Either way I would love to see the impact zone.

@@IowaDiver well...I guess your right. Just figured it out. If we dropped it from 5 miles up and it weighs about 800 kg. It will hit the ground at about 400 mph give or take. Yikes. Lol.

These twin tracks do not have that, and neither did the single seat, twin track Alpine. The twin track racer of the 80s did have a diff-clutch system to disengage one of the tracks during cornering on the ice oval race track.

I came across this video somehow. I don't know anything about snow sleds, but this is ridiculous. With so many amazing vehicles out there, there's no excuse for a toy like this. I'd find one that has a much wider ski stance with better suspension more suited for fluffier deeper snow and more uneven terrain. I know Ski-doo is big brand, but c'mon!

This was brought back in 2004 as an updated anniversary version of a side by side sled first built in the in mid-70s. It is not a current sled.

It turns better with two people and on packed trails. In fluff snow like this and with one person in the cab, the ski pressure is not as intended.
