Thank you for writing this song singing this song brother. I was in a coma for quite some time after being hit by illegal immigrant on my Harley. While I was in a coma my friends were taken to heaven because it was okay to do it then obviously. And then several other attempts were made and they've never stopped since but I want you to know this song has helped me make it through everything. Thank you my dear friend who I've never met.

Its still odd to me that people preform other peoples songs while the original artist generally goes unappreciated. Travis is an outstanding song writer. And in my opinion, someone who writes from personal experience and emotion has a much better sound. All of the production value in the world can't help owen sound better than Travis on this song. Much respect.

One of the best examples of this is the song, I Need You, a hit for Tim McGraw a few years back. His version was a textbook example of how to ruin a great song by running it through the Nashville pop country grinder. Go back and listen to it again, then find Tony Lane's studio cut. He cowrote it with David Lee. No comparison. Tony gave it the raw edge it deserved and in his hands it's a masterpiece.

I was looking to learn how to play this song and found this. I always love listening to these big songs played by the person who wrote it. I don't get into this or that version is better, because I think that is like saying blue guitars are the best guitars. But I will say that I'd rather listen to Mr. Meadows. Amazing, old, soulful voice. I will be looking for more of his music.
