You know what I dislike about Apple TV? Everyone gets the same tvOS version - but the functionality is different from device to device. This doesn't even appear to always be a hardware issue - but a software limitation. For example. Apple TV 4K (1st gen can't do HDR10+ & FaceTime) ... 2nd gen can do FaceTime - but not HDR10+ ... and the 3rd generation get's everything . What is going to happen with tvOS18 ? What will the generation 'not be able to get - even though it's a year old?

It’s not random. It’s dependent on the app in the first row and if you exit a screensaver it uses the colors of the screensaver

Most of these features apply to Apple TV 4K (2nd and 3rd generations). And for the music stuff you need a music subscription. So basically these features will only work if you have the silver metallic remote (not the black one with the white circle around menu)

It is all very well them adding these new features but how about the ones it removed with no warning! I have used Apple TV since they first came out including the ones with hard drives in them. I made extensive use if the "Wish List" in "movies iTunes" and "Favourites" in "tv shows iTunes" Now all the TV and movie stuff on offer is jumbled all up, no way of getting information of one of your library movies without starting watching it. I have over 1600 purchases over the years. Now the new "Library" option tells me under Genres, "TV Programmes" I have one title, Stargate SG1 but under "TV Shows" I have 62 (of course, no count of titles anymore).

I feel that some of the feature updates on this one I don't think nobody asked to have facetime calls on the TV that is hilariously silly, like if this update were for only a minor 1% of the 99% apple consumers. Is cool apple bringing face calls on the TV, but Is Apple running out of ideas and they are bringing stuff you already can do on the phone? I dunno know for me is silly but as long is free whatever apple.
