I love all TVR`s, even the wedges but the Cerbera is my favourite, every curve of it is gorgeous. I Used to have a 1985 Lotus Excel as a weekend car but ended up using as my daily, some times a car doesn't need a million horse power to be a fantastic drivers car, I couldn't stop smiling while driving it. and despite common misconceptions it was as reliable as any other car ..

A stunning Cerb you have there and being a 2005 means it will have been really well sorted ex factory. I have a 2001 4.5 in New Zealand with the purple/green reflex paint job. It always gets lots of attention. I find on the highway that I am feathering that long travel accelerator and get amazing MPG - if you floor it you're in jail term territory in a few seconds! Out of interest how does the performance compare to the Ginetta?

Enjoyed the video and your camera tech skills. I used to 'commute' to Germany in my Chimaera 400, then a Mk1 Tuscan and later in my Tuscan Convertible. I used to get around 28mpg with those over the 750 motorway miles. My 4.2 Cerbera used to give around 24 mpg on my 100 mile daily UK commute. As you said, I put the mpg down to the lightness of TVR's.

Great vid! I've taken my 4.5 on several 3k mile round trips to the south of Spain from Surrey, and it averaged 24.8 to 25 mpg over those trips, admittedly mostly steady 80mph. Mapped by the legendary Joolz at Kits and Classics in Chesterfield (Cerbera tuning guru). It has consistently given 411BHp on Dyno Dynamics rollers ever since, over the last 15 years.

I love these cars , I’ve always wanted one since the time I was a passenger in the mid nineties when I wasn’t able to afford the insurance let alone purchasing one , now forward 25 plus years I’ve been looking at the 4.5 AJP but in order to purchase this magnificent beast I would have to sell my V10 M5 which I’ve had for nearly five years which has had all preventive maintenance issues sorted …. it’s a hard one 😅 I enjoyed the vid , I remember doing a similar mpg test in the M5 over a longer distance which surprised me as well ( around mid twenties) 👍

I picked up my Griffith 500 from having the interior retrimmed in Wolverhampton. Drove it home to Dover Kent. 221 miles. I did the same experiment by brimming it at pick up then brimming it again when I got home. My car got 29mpg. That's what lightness and thousands of pounds spent on engine ECU and other upgrades gets you.

@@fence4821 Well, I had a 2006 Nissan Sentra ( sunny ) , and it had a 1.8 4cylinder. When I drove it how I like to drive, a bit faster than the signs tell me to. I could get about 30 mpg. I figured your car, being only a year older, with a much larger 4.5 liter, wouldn't get nearly the miles I did, but surely had to get at least 20 mpg.
