It’s true, that’s what I get in mine. I think it’s because you don’t have to step on it much and it just goes like hell anyway, it’s very rare I floor it.

I have an sd1 rover in NZ with a bored &stroked rover v8(now 4.6 litres) producing about 300 bhp . I bought it in wellington and drove it home to the bottom of the south island in a very non direct route covering 2400KM, it did 26 mpg, so your cerberra's economy didn't surprise me much. Beautiful car,by the way

@chriswalker4272 You don't need massive wheels on a defender, because it makes steering heavy and doesn't improve drivability, unless your driving on soft sand or rock crawling. Which you don't. Also fitting a sump guard for looks only will reduce cooling airflow over your sump, which is more looks over function. But Defenders are really about function over looks. That's why you won't see these kinds of mods on Defenders that do spend much of their time, actually working off road for real. I like to keep my Landies factory original, although I have gas flowed the head on my 300 TDI, for efficiency. It is a new head so why not. The castings are quite rough internally so port and polish I have. But I love the farmy look. My Landy's are still used to work, even my 1974 S3 88" still oves a romp in my woodland with my chainsaw lol

OK I had a BossHoss , A small block 5.7 litre chevy motorcycle. The weight I was told by the texas workshop 750 kilos, but think it was nearer to 500 kilos. this was a 2 speed semi automatic first gear 17 to the gallon in second 30 mpg I really like the idea of owning one of these !

I’m not a Mercedes nut so I’m not fully up to date on how much they’re worth but this price does not surprise me at all. Very rare car with the 7.3 litre V12 that’s used in the paganis, only 85 in the world were made this particular example has crazy low miles looks to be in perfect condition and is a royal car which makes it a 1 of 4 according to google as he ordered 25 but only got 4. So very rare very low miles very good condition and from what many perceive to be the golden age of Mercedes is why this price does not surprise me. This is still far less than what an AMG hammer would sell for. One of those sold for over $750,000 which is just crazy

I'd say this chap was a poseur who was wasting the true potential of this Defender 90. That's true. But it is also true that it is people like him who help to keep these wonderful vehicles on the road and who help maintain its legendary status. So, bravo to Mr. Poseur ;-)

I picked up my Griffith 500 from having the interior retrimmed in Wolverhampton. Drove it home to Dover Kent. 221 miles. I did the same experiment by brimming it at pick up then brimming it again when I got home. My car got 29mpg. That's what lightness and thousands of pounds spent on engine ECU and other upgrades gets you.

to confirm, during my ownership I didnt experience one breakdown and or one failiure or difficutly wiht the car. it was aintained by Dom and the guys at Powers TVR every year. sometime it was left for months before firing up but would fire up first time every time.

Was the 4.5 a factory anomaly or swapped in later?
@bilc92369 ай бұрын
The v8 options were 4.2 and 4.5 from new at factory. You could also do Red Rose further tweaks to the 4.5 if you were very brave

Considering the laws of physics here on Earth, I'm a bit confused - with such a light weight, is there any reason why it should consume more..?
