Bought a new one three years ago. 2L diesel se model. It’s the 3rd new one I’ve had, absolutely beautiful car….But I must say, they are a lot dearer in comparison to what they were 9 yrs ago.

Skoda is not available in my country(US). Are they reasonably reliable during the first 3 or 4 years? (compared to other estate models in the similar price range) Thanks!

Ive been running a 1.0tsi for three months using it for motorways and urban areas. The mpg quoted is correct measured at the pump its averaging 57mpg. On a motorway run alone its 68 to 70. My previous cars were the golf and leon 1.6tdi. The mpg as an average was similar. Id say its more of a premium feel than either of its stablemates and the huge boot is a definite plus.

After my 9 year old beloved Jaguar XE was stolen I had to have a rethink about my car and how I used it and the value it gives me. From all the reviews on You Tube I opted for an Octavia PHEV which I bought second hand from a reputable dealer in Peterborough (coincidentally). I have driven it for 2 months and racked up a modest 1500 miles. Would I buy the same car again? IN A HEARTBEAT. Spacious, comfortable, quiet (after my diesel Jag) and don't get me started on economy. I run locally purely on cheap off peak electricity, only dipping into the petrol engine for longer trips. My average so far is about 80 MPG but that includes a couple of long trips. On a day to day I never have to refuel. as an example I last filled the car at a petrol station in Truro, Cornwall, 240 miles away. at the end of August. A month later and I still have over 100 miles in the tank. The space is amazing and I can carry a full set of golf clubs, motor trolley and all the accessories in the boot with room to spare, and I only have the hatchback not the estate version. Love it.

I wonder about the longevity of the small engine and transmission. Having to haul such a large mass about is surely going to increase stresses on the components and probably lots of problems 3 years down the road.

Kia Ceed 1L 3Cyl still has 7 Years of warranty. It's not about how many cylinders or how big an engine is, it's about engineering and throughtfulness.

I've had one for a month and am quite happy with it. MPG is around 45 on flowing A roads. But I was stuck in a 3 mile traffic jam, because of temporary traffic lights, for 45 minutes (4 mph average) and it only got 21 MPG. My only criticism is that the stop/start feature has a mind of its own, so can initiate sometimes and then decide it can't be bothered anymore. That part makes no sense to me What else would you like to know?
