Got mine about 8 months ago. Wasn't really into motorcycles before that. But after riding it, I am not ashamed to admit that I get the craze behind them. The freedom, the peace and the solitude this little machine gives me is immeasurable. Plus it lead me to discover MotorInc. I am sure this is the beginning of my extensive motorcycle collection and I am eager to learn to ride better, safer and for longer.

Yeah. Service has been an issue. Everytime I get it serviced, it feels slightly different to handle. I don't like confrontations, so I don't mention anything to them. Plus I am a new rider so what do I know. I just make sure they are doing everything mentioned in the manual and go on with my day. I am thinking about finding a good outside mechanic for any future maintainence.

There is only 1 word for the Raider... Lovely! Its good looking, riding position is confidence inspiring, flickable, responsive - its all good vibes on this. Had a opportunity to ride it ~190 kms and absolutely loved it! TBH the colorful LCD display on the base model is great. this side scrolling LCD looks like the old aftermarket (usually pioneer) music systems on old cars.

Since 2022, I've been the proud owner of a Raider in striking red. This bike has its fair share of perks and quirks. On the plus side, it’s fun to ride, delivers a decent fuel economy, and boasts a rumbly exhaust note, rare for such a low displacement bike. However, the rear suspension bottoms out frequently, and the engine feels harsh and unrefined above 6000rpm. I’ve faced quite a few reliability issues, compounded by poor service quality. Despite these setbacks, the bike still offers a decent overall package. Sometimes, I do regret my decision, but it has its moments of joy. 😌😌 Happy riding and stay safe! 🏍😊 PS: The conclusion of the video was absolutely spot on. It was a perfect description. Hats off to you all for providing such genuine and authentic auto journalism-it's quite uncommon these days.

As someone who has been the owner of a raider since it's launch, the only downside I'll mention about it will be it's size. I'm only 5'10" but I look like I'm sitting on a toy in most pictures of me with the bike. But it looks so good for even shorter guys though, and the low seat height makes it easier for them as well. And the headlight kinda sucks. If you're having to rely on it alone in the darkest of environments, good luck.

Thanks @kn8u! We're pleasantly surprised that the service is not mentioned here. Please share your experience about that.

@motorinc Service was initially terrible from Sarathy TVS, I've never been frustrated towards anything as much as to this. Not only do they not provide service (my bike was left untouched for over 15 days in the center), they're outright disrespectful to the customers. Emails to higher ups never receive any replies too. Whenever I've been there, I've seen people making a scene there for something or the other. But in 2023, SV TVS started a showroom and service center. They provide great service, communicate well, and treat us with respect. Probably because they just started and want to set a good image, but good for the customers anyways.
@TheFourthWinchester8 күн бұрын
I have the 160 and used to say the service is not bad for 5 years now. Last time I went there they tried to put all sorts of nonsense and bloated the bill to 3k. I got most of it removed and they couldn't argue since I knew what they were saying they did was shyt and paid 2k and that's the low end you will pay. And idk what they did, but the engine feels like it already needs another filling because they put cheap oil unlike the synthetic oil I always pay for. And they sent me the video of putting the original synthetic oil that they billed me for. I definitely will not be going back to TVS service centers again.

Hey @motorinc fam! I'm back, and after a long, long time now! Hope y'all are doing good! As a Raider owner, I have basically a TEDx speech for this bike!😂 I'll start off by praising the heck out of TVS for shaking the entry level motorcycle segment with this bike. I bought the Raider in 2023, not knowing a thing about motorcycles. My main purpose was to commute. And in 6 months, I was so in love with motorcycling, I started doing short highway tours! The Raider has always been eager, like a toddler who constantly wants you to go to the park with them, and who will still be jumpy and excited even when you're tired out of breath. I'm glad I started my motorcycling on the Raider, because it has taught me so much, all while feeling not like a teacher, but like a friend. I've tried solo highways, luggage Highways, two up highways and I must say all of the notes in the video hit the exact right mark! Great, great job, Shumi! You deserve more praise for your accuracy! Coming to service experience, it has been the only niggle in my ownership experience. And it's been such an issue that I've started trusting my local garage mechanic more than the TVS service centres. TVS should really fix that on first priority. Giving confidence in corners? The Raider is unrivalled honestly. I've noticed I'm reving out the engine more often, taking corners with a sharper angle, and doing things I never thought I'd do! (Although once it gave me so much confidence, I ended up with a skid and a gravel scraped helmet visor, a few bruises and an arm ache, but thanks to my gear, I was fit and fine! Not the bike's fault honestly, I tried to make a commuter behave like a sportbike haha😂) All in all, the Raider has been probably the best starting point I could've got into motorcycling and I hope more people get to experience what I did with this gem of a bike. Love, CB.

I got economy of 60+ in eco mode. rear suspension is stiff. good to see that this bike is still relevant even after 5 yrs. better to go with new Honda shine if looking for reliability. no major issues faced so far with my raider also to mention one can easily cruse on 80-85 with minimal vibration and without any stress on engine.

Suspension is on mid side both stability and comfort is available. The seat is very comfortable when compared to my electric vehicle tork kratos. Pillion comfort is also really good which was also the major reason to buy it Just install a tank cover and cover the fuel cap completely and use synthetic engine oil and it will run well

Hi! @Motorinc and Shumi, I have been loving Raider, the very first two wheeler on my garage. I am loving it so far, I have pushed it on highways at 90kmph for couple of hours straight, it does the job well. I have changed both the brake pads at 12K KM and the chainset at 17K KM. I consider myself to be lucky that I found a good mechanic ( of course not at TVS ). I did some visual modifications on the bike and it feels so premium at 125cc segment. Also, would you consider and suggest your editor to make the CTA banner transparent and maybe add frosted glass effect to it? It will surely make the viewer experience a lot more non intrusive. My group relish your content like digital gold. Cheers! 😄🤩

The issue I faced is, while cruising at 60-70 km/h I feel a lot of vibration in my hand but in 75-80km/h the vibration is less. Not sure why Shumi relates the smaller compact size of the Raider to that of its premiumness or lack there of. Raider being smaller with a lower seat height helps shorter riders like me to control through traffic and enjoy the ride more enthusiastically. Raider is perfectly sized, it is the most premium in the 125cc segment. What the Raider shall improve is its braking. Must provide ABS to compete with its rival from Hero. Without good braking, there is no enthusiastic riding, only risk.

And he said, "mrf are good enough but tvs eurogrip are just better". And i asked, "why is there any specific reason". And he replied, "they are just better". I don't understand what he means 😅 And my bike is quite new(3 months old) and i was thinking which brand i should to go, if i later thought to upgrade my tyres. I would like if you suggest some good tyres because I'm going to learn track riding(obviously safe road) and i know its not a good bike for these kind of thing but hey we gotta learn from somewhere 🤷.

Hey @_PRAMIK! Shumi's advice is _just ride._ When your tyres are worn out, we can work out what is a good option based on what is available at that point. Today, it's a safe bet that most tyres on sale will outperform their riders easily, specially in the smaller motorcycles classes.

Man, my service costs at least 2-3k every time (Shelar, in Pune). Once your Android app comes out I would like to compare with the experience of others. Also, my engine is quite vibey (except in the mid revs where it's joyous xD), but I can't place if it's the engine or just the other parts that vibrate (which you also said were good). And the engine always makes this annoying shrill metallic sound at some revs that is really bothersome when I'm not in traffic and can actually hear it. The servicemen have had no answer for any of this. They say that the vibration is just a sign that you should gear up :p and they've tried fixing the sound as something to do with a "tappet", but it always comes back. And the mileage no longer goes above 50 sigh. But don't get me wrong. I LOVE my Raider. I dig the torque, I revel in the corners, and now I'm at a point where I can handle it like a cycle. But I just don't see it as the refined product you've always said it is. I definitely don't doubt you, but I always wonder if I just got given a bad piece because I nagged the showroom people too much for delivery.

Yes shelar is has fraud service, they try to suck money from customer.
@motorinc8 күн бұрын
Hey @charmayleon and @rohanpawar8441! Sometimes the way forward is to get some mechanic outside the TVS system to do diagnostics for you. No actual work, but a run down of what's wrong so that while keeping our warranty, we can get the auth techs to do what's needed.

Hey Shumi ❤, can you review Simple One scooter. I want to listen from you about that scooter. Also, can you do one episode for the people who are working as delivery boys and which bike and scooter will suitable. Really begging for you to do video on these 2 topics.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
@motorinc8 күн бұрын
Hi @anandpusa4803, the Simple One still doesn't seem to have gone on sale widely yet. We're waiting for that to happen. And for someone working as a delivery person, any 125cc or above motorcycle will do just fine (including the Raider). If you're particular about the fuel economy, you can also test ride the Bajaj Freedom too.

Do you recommend triumph scrambler 400 X for a new bike rider?… I chose to try the triumph speed T4, seeing ur videos but it is way too small for my height, which is 5’11. Any suggestions on bikes around 4lk, for Indian roads daily needs,25 yrs old?

Please do try the Ask an Expert section in the app for queries like this @John__Rambo. We can track them there, answer them faster, and be able to share them (without your data, naturally) with other people who might have the same query.

It gives an awesome feel but quality is big let down. Why shumi not talking about quality of tvs ?
@motorinc8 күн бұрын
TVS product quality is generally very good! It's their service quality that isn't, Amal. Did you have a different experience?
@AmalDevYT8 күн бұрын
@@motorinc When test ride I felt quality of plastics extremely cheap. And now my friend has a raider and now in 10k kms fuel pump gone and 13k spent. Chain sprocket gone in 15k and now need new one. Tvs products all come with these kinds of issues. I don't know why shumi not talking about it. Be it apache, ntroq, Jupiter, engine stalling etc. it's a well known open secret nowadays. I would never say tvs as high quality manufacturer. Infact bajaj new products quality does seem to be better than tvs and much more reliable
@aravindbhargava16518 күн бұрын
I'm using TVS raider. There was oil on the road and I fell down once on the vehicle and nothing has happened to the vehicle. I think you're expecting a metal body in future for cost cuttings most of them automobile manufacturers will shift to plastic. For example in the recently updated activa 125 they used plastic side panels
@AmalDevYT8 күн бұрын
@@aravindbhargava1651 It's not about plastic only. It's about long term with tvs bikes. And whatever I hear they have very worst experience despite different models

Please compare Raider and Xtreme 125R in a video. I took test drives and I feel exactly same. I want my purchase to be easy to live with, with minimum niggles or as people call it 'matha patchi'. I cannot make my decision as xtreme has abs but raider has a better pillion sear and behavior. Both of the companies' service centres are almost the same in terms of service quality imo.
