Yonex has been upping their design game lately. It's pretty🔥🔥.I remember a couple of years ago, their color schemes were just pretty bad. They also make the best looking badminton rackets, so I'm not sure why their tennis rackets were subpar in terms of looks.

The vcore galaxy black 98 has virtually identical stats as the new ezone, can you explain the difference between these two frames
@tenniswarehouse4 жыл бұрын
With the new EZONE 98, the power is actually pretty close to this one, maybe even a bit more than the VCORE 98. The feel is a bit more crisp with the new EZONE, and the VCORE 98 feels a bit more plush. Overall comfort is pretty close though. I would give the main difference to VCORE 98 being more spin friendly, and the EZONE 98 has a slightly lower launch angle. The EZONE 98 also swings a bit faster, a little more "whippy", and the VCORE 98 a little more plow. Troy, TW

Hey Troy, I own the Galaxy Black 98 and noticed, that this frame has a bit too much power for my playing style. Some of my strokes are getting wide. I use the yonex poly tour strike 25/24 kg string btw. Is it possible to add some lead or tungsten tape to decrease it's power or doesn't it work that way? Would do you think about the Pure Strike Tour in comparison to this racket?
@tenniswarehouse3 жыл бұрын
You could try adding some weight to the handle to make for a more head light balance, although it won't really reduce power, because it won't reduce the swingweight. I guess you could try a thicker string like a 15L poly. The Pure Strike Tour is heftier, and maybe a bit more control, however not a big difference, but maybe the Strike 98 18x20. If you are looking to increase control, you might also consider the Yonex VCORE Pro 97, Head Gravity Pro or Tour, Dunlop CX 200, Wilson Blade 98, and Tecnifibre TF40. Troy, TW

Not certain if adding weight will make the racquet feel any stiffer, or crisper, however, I did find that I liked adding some weight to this frame around 3/9 o'clock, but also lower in the hoop, around 4/8, 5/7 o'clock. I don't make contact down in that part of the hoop often, but if I did it felt pretty dead. hi TW - I am bit confused here ... this racket is supposed to be more powerful than the E-Zone 98 however if I look at the rating tables you have awarded the Vcore 98 only 83 points against 87 points for the Ezone 98 for power
@tenniswarehouse5 жыл бұрын
@Shantanu Singh I believe the points you are referring to are for the review scores, in which we rated the VCORE 98 as 82, and EZONE 98 as 87. The main difference between the review scores, comes down to having different playtesters for the two different reviews. The only playtester that was on both racquets, was Chris. I tend to find the VCORE 98 to pack a bit more power, as the string spacing is a bit more open, it is a bit stiffer, and has a higher swingweight. I have played a lot with the two extended length versions, VCORE 98+ & EZONE 98+, and I notice that the VCORE 98+ packs some added power. Troy, TW

Hi, i'm currently playing with sv98, and i'm really satisfied with it. Sometimes it's not as maneuverable (it feels heavier that it is) and it can be a little hard on the arm when you hit the ball outside of sweatspot but for me it has excellent blend of power, spin and control. How does this new version compare to it in terms of power, spin, control and feel? I just want a racquet that has same power, spin but with little bit more feel and maneuverability. Thanks!
@tenniswarehouse5 жыл бұрын
@genefrankle1, This VCORE 98 (305) has a slightly softer feel, and even more spin than the VCORE SV 98. The maneuverability is pretty similar between the two. I think it is a good option for you, but it will maneuver similarly to your current racquet. If you want a faster feeling racquet then I would consider the Yonex EZONE 98 (305), as it has a lower swingweight. Troy, TW
@genefrankle15 жыл бұрын
@@tenniswarehouse thank you for the response. I will definitely consider the vcore 98. The problem is in Croatia you can't demo the racquet. Before sv98 i played with dr98 and the feel and maneuverability were great but i always felt like it was missing some power, like i can't finish the point with it and put the ball away with power. (don't know how else to explain it). The sv98 definitely solved that problem for me. But sv98 is very demanding racquet, it plays heavier than 305g (dr98 is 310g and is easier to play with, it feels lighter) and i was getting tired pretty quickly because its so demanding. At least until i got used to it. Is it because of balance and sw or the general feel of the racquet? Is vcore 98 less demanding?
@tenniswarehouse5 жыл бұрын
@genefrankle1, Swingweight, and balance are both factors, but the swingweight is the primary indicator of maneuverability. Hi TW! I’m in the market for a new racquet, and I currently play with the Yonex VCore Tour F 97. How do you all think this racquet compares? I’ve demoed a number of frames but always come back to the VCore line. I pretty much have zero complaints with my current racquet (with the exception of I wish it was more stable when slicing), but I think it might be time for an upgrade. My racquet is currently strong with Volkl Cyclone 17 at 52 lbs.

@James Bracey, This VCORE 98 (305) could be a good option for you. It packs a bit more power, and spin, compared to your current racquet. If you are able to demo, I would try this racquet, along with the EZONE 98 (305), and VCORE Pro 97 (310), to see which suits your game the best. Troy, TW
@JTennisBowler2896 жыл бұрын
@Tennis Warehouse Funny you should say that, Troy, as I was actually able to hit with all three of the racquets you recommended this past weekend. While I liked the EZone & VCore Pro, I felt like both of those racquets produced less spin and were also not as flexible as my current racquet or the VCore 98. Comparing the VCore 98 with my current racquet, I felt like I was getting a higher launch angle off the racquet with my shots and more spin overall, and also my kick serves & slice were noticeably better. For me, the power was comparable. On my groundstrokes, something felt different, though, and I can’t quite figure out what it is. I think the VCore 98 has a more “plush” feel to it while my VCore Tour F 97 has a slightly more “crisp” feel. Does that make sense? Additionally, is the VCore 98 stiffer/more flexible than my current racquet? Seems like it took slightly more effort to swing the 98, but maybe that’s just me. I was trying to find the specs to compare the two, but I can’t seem to find much on the Tour F.
@tenniswarehouse6 жыл бұрын
@James Bracey, I'm glad you were able to hit with all three racquets, as that is the best way to determine which one will work for you. The stiffness of your Tour F 97 is pretty close to the VCORE 98, but we had it listed in our spec database as 66 RA, and the VCORE 98 is 65 RA. The avg. swingweight of your Tour F 97 was 318, and the VCORE 98 is 322. That seems to make sense of why you found the VCORE 98 to take more effort to swing. Here are the avg. specs that we had listed for your VCORE Tour F 97 (310g): 11.5 oz, 7 pts. HL, 318 SW, 66 RA. You can use those to compare to the VCORE 98 (305), which we have listed on our website. @Tennis Warehouse Thank you so much, Troy, for your quick responses and providing the specs below-this was very helpful. What does RA stand for exactly? Also, when you hit with this racquet, did you find that it had a slightly more “plush” feel to it in comparison to the VCore Tour F 97? I want to make sure I’m feeling the right thing haha. This will likely be the racquet I purchase as I have demoed numerous ones, so I’m just making sure I have all my info in order. If you have any recommendations on other racquets, I’m happy to try those as well. Thanks for all your help, you guys are the best 👍🏻!
@tenniswarehouse6 жыл бұрын
@James Bracey, We believe it is an abbreviation, from one of the original racquet stiffness machines, made by Rossignol. It was referred to as a "Racquet Analysis" machine. It has been a while since I have hit with the Tour F 97, so not sure if I can give it a fair assessment. That said, we did find it to have a slightly higher stiffness, and it has a 16x21 string pattern. The more dense pattern will likely yield a firmer feel, compared to the 16x19 open pattern of the VCORE 98. It sounds like the VCORE 98 (305g) is a good option for you. It should provide a slight boost in power, and spin compared to your Tour F 97, without sacrificing the comfort level. I have been hitting a lot with the VCORE 95, and I am contemplating the switch. It is more control oriented, and has certain traits that remind me of my old Wilson Six One 95 racquets. It seems as though the new VCORE 98, and VCORE 95, are providing a good blend of performance, and feel. The "feel" part seemed to be a bit lacking, on the previous VCORE SV 95, and 98. Troy, TW

Friends, how can I leave the head 360 + Extreme Tour moderately similar to the yonex vcore 98? Would it be a good idea to add a few grams at 12 o'clock? Maybe five centimeters of lead at 3 and 6 too?
@tenniswarehouse Жыл бұрын
There are certain aspects of the racquet that you can't change, like the fact that they are two different frames, from different factories and processes to create the primarily graphite frame. That said, if you are just trying to match the specs, then maybe try using our customization tool at the TW University. That said, you would need to know what the specs are of each racquet. We could use the average specs that we list on our website, but that isn't going to be exactly the same as the racquets that you have. The problem is that based on the average specs, these racquets are the same weight but the VCORE 98 from 2018 had a slightly higher average swingweight, 322 avg compared to 318 avg for the 360+ Extreme Tour. So basically it sounds like you need to increase the swingweight by about 4 to five points, but it will make the racquet slightly heavier, and like I mentioned this is just based on average specs we had on our site, your specs will likely be different for the two racquets. @samer hanna, Typically, if the word "DEMO" is printed on the frame, or as a sticker, it means that the manufacturer made that racquet to be used in a demo program, or is a playtest sample. The racquet should play just like one that is made to be sold, but it may not carry the one year manufacturer warranty against defects. Troy, TW

Hi TW - how does this compare to TFight XTC 305?

@4LVFans, This one is more powerful, and provides easier access to spin. The 305 XTC has better control, and a bit more plow through. Troy, TW

Troy! How does this racquet compare to the Dunlop F3.0 Tour? I still play with the Dunlop! 😂
@tenniswarehouse6 жыл бұрын
@Will Chu, Are you referring to the Dunlop Biomimetic F3.0 Tour (with an 18x20 string pattern), or the Dunlop Srixon Revo CV 3.0 F Tour? Troy, TW

The Biomimetic F3.0 Tour with 18x20! Thanks
@tenniswarehouse6 жыл бұрын
@Will Chu, I see. This VCORE 98 is more powerful, and spin friendly, compared to your Biomimetic F3.0 Tour. This VCORE 98 is more similar to the Dunlop Biomimetic F4.0 Tour. From Yonex, the EZONE 98 (305g) is a good option to consider, and has a bit more control, compared to this VCORE 98. If you want a racquet with a lot of control, and feel, we really enjoy the VCORE Pro 97 (310). If you are looking to stay with an 18x20 string pattern, the Babolat Pure Strike 98 18x20, or Wilson Blade 98 18x20 racquets are good ones to consider. Troy, TW

What’s the biggest differences between the vcore 98 and the blade 98 16x19?
@vinniedafoo186 жыл бұрын
one is made in Japan, quality control is better, one is made in China, quality is shit
@markivanov44266 жыл бұрын
vinniedafoo18 made in China but still designed in Chicago. It’s just more efficient for people in China to make them
@vinniedafoo186 жыл бұрын
put it on a scale and you would be amaze at how much different they're weight, no such thing as quality control

vinniedafoo18 I mean half of the top 100 in the atp and wta tour uses Wilson so they must be doing something right

Hi, coming from the Prince exo Rebel O3 98 I'm looking for a plush racket that's a bit more stable/heavier and therefor offer more control. The ezone 98 seems good, but now a recognized this vcore 98... Can somebody compare both Rackets to the Prince in Terms of feel and control? Thx!
@tenniswarehouse4 жыл бұрын
Overall they are pretty similar, but the EZONE is a bit better for control, and feels slightly more comfortable, and the VCORE 98 is a bit more spin friendly, and has a bit livelier feel when it comes to power. Troy, TW

@tenniswarehouse6 жыл бұрын
@Brian Kim, This VCORE 98 is a bit more stiff, and powerful. The EZONE DR 98 is a bit more flexible, and plush feeling. Spin potential is really good, with both. Troy, TW

Would you say that this version is a big change compared to the previous version (i.e., SV 98) or is it only a minor update?
@tenniswarehouse6 жыл бұрын
@Balajee Vamanan, I wouldn't say it is a huge change, but there is a noticeable change in flex, which leads to better comfort with this update, compared to the VCORE SV 98. Troy, TW
