The time lapse segments were really beautiful. Thanks for posting. Also, I think you might be able to get a fire started off the exhaust. Perhaps dip some dry grass or paper in gas, and then hold them to the exhaust right from the cylinder. Worth a try at least. Peace. Out and Happy Resurrection Sunday! (Aka Easter).

@@TDubsKid .. but you didn't meet a talking rock this time. Why?
@drzrider34408 ай бұрын
Man, bummer about the no fire. I broke down only 1 time riding alone. At the top of the mountain. Did even planes on hitting up the dirt, so didnt bring anything with....not even a lighter. And when the sun goes down here, its just like there. It gets cold. I got lucky and had one car come by and gave me their lighter for a fire while I waited for help getting me and bike home. But would truly suck to figure it out like you did the next day. Id be passed at myself....but lesson learned im sure. I now Carey two lighters and one of which is one of those plasma lighters thats rechargeable, so I always have a lighter even when the fuel runs out.

Great video, Wes. Your riding videos always inspire me to go on my own rides and to get out and do that maintenance that I keep procrastinating doing. Looking forward ep 2. BTW, have you seen how to start a fire with the spark from your spark plug? Its a little sketchy but will work if in a pinch. Several YT videos on how to do it (safely). Cheers!

I've been finding lots of trails in Colorado lately, where farmers just put gates over marked forest roads and claim them as their own
@TDubsKid7 ай бұрын
Get avenza and download the national forest motor vehicle use maps you need here is an example… Check out this map on the Avenza Map Store www.avenzamaps.com/maps/1598793 Make sure to read it all and you can ride anywhere the map allows. The latest motor vehicle use map has the final say. A lot of times you just need open the gate yourself and close it behind you, to keep the cows from escaping. if the gate is locked and it shouldn’t be call the forest service and they will straighten things out

I know this was like 5 years ago, but you can start a fire with your spark plug. Or just bridge the battery terminals. I always keep a book-size magnifying glass in my pack, but it obviously needs the sun for that.

@@TDubsKid Thanks. That one looked like the best option to me too. I had picked up a 300 watt solar panel but found the solar panel put out 24 volts and the Bluetti required a minimum of 36 volts. So I guess I have to look for cost effective solar panels that put out at least 36 volts
