TW200 TAT Build

TW200, could it be the right bike for the trans America trail?

Just picked up a '96 TW200 with just over 1700 miles, so was keen to see what you had to say here. I think you make some very valid points here about the TW being the bike for the job - a loaded down KLR 650 is going to weigh as much as a Volkswagen! Subscribed to the channel as I'm hopeful there will be content at some point with you on the TAT with the TW!

The TW200 is definitely built to overcome any hard terrain you throw it it with its low gearing and low seat height. You can paddle walk these things through anything in your way. I've put 3500 miles on mine since I purchased it. I have had no problems whatsoever either. The TAT plans are coming together. However, life has gotten in the way of my launch date.

There is a guy that did the TAT on a Honda C-90. His videos on it are pretty cool.

The TW is great for any adventure with trails, dirt roads, and byways with 55mph and lower speed limits. Cards on the table, I’m a TW fan/owner

It's probably the most capable dual sport on the market. With upgrades to the sprockets, I've seen 65 mph.

@@rainyriveroutfitters I've been lookin for bikes with these old school colorways here recently. if I can find one of those or a 1995 yzf600r with those blue/pink/orange colors I'm gonna jump on it.

Just check it over very well. A lot of these older bikes had the snot beat out of them. There are still survivors out there, but they are gonna cost a premium.

Nice choice I love my 2020 tw and wouldn't trade it for anything! I would highly recommend a new skid plate and wider pegs first thing.

Those are the first upgrades needed, as well as a bar riser.

Absolutely give it a try. That’s the adventure. Typically a bullet proof bike. I have a ‘96 DR 350 that I want to take on the TAT. I like the smaller bikes that I can flick around in a tight spot. I’ve been considering a TW also. Do it!

I want to, I just have to do some upgrading for luggage. I know the bike is more than capable. You can literally punish the TW, and it still keeps going. We will see what's in store for this bike. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I wouldn't have it any other way, it's awesome to have that option. I haven't HAD to use it but I've done it a few times.

I wish I could tell you that I did. Unfortunately, life circumstances got in the way, and I haven't.
