*This is bit of a pain to set up🍇 **allabout.wiki/Adjustable** Pro though I understand why all the pieces make shipping and packing more efficient. The instructions were clear and set up took me about 45 minutes. Everything uses wingnuts, so not tools are required unless you are mounting cameras on the lid. You do need a 6v battery (I had one). The feeder is easy to program and seems quite rugged. I am 6'0" and I can easily open and fill this feeder, which is great.*

I have this feeder and want to get it completely off the ground. Any ideas on how to do that and what hardware might be needed? I can’t find any diy KZbin videos showing that at all.

Timers are the only way to go. No sense feeding the deer in the pitch black of night. Make them come out in the day. Plus, you keep the raccoons and other critters from being able to eat all of the corn out of your feeer in just days.

dairy goat ration works better in spring. for doe's feeding young. in fall I add beef finisher, soya beans and lentiles.

nice video! once the deer start hitting that feeder you will want to crank up to 6-10 seconds of morning and 6-10 seconds of evening that way you will have plenty of corn out and keep them occupied for a few minutes eating also I wouldn't put protein pellets in the feeder they spread everywhere on the ground they suck up water and make a slimy crud on the ground but if you make a pvc pipe gravity feeder it won't get wet and will last also the so called attractants they sell most of it is just ground up soy beans with dye in it good luck with your set up

I've been doing this for decades. ;) I cut the corn time because it doesn't make any sense to dump a bunch on the ground if nothing is coming by to eat it. It will go back up once deer start eating everything put down every day.

hey twang and bang , if you don't mind me asking have you hunted any of the public lands like Jordan or Sharron Harris , I live near Wilmington and I'm going to be trying out some public lands this season . some tips from a local would be nice if you don't mind , mabe you know some places I've not heard of than the above ones I've mentioned from info I got from NC fish and game magazine. love your videos , keep'em coming , thanks...

I've hunted Jordan Lake quite a bit, but it's been 10 years and have no current knowledge. I got quite a few deer out of it, though nothing that would be considered a trophy. As you might expect, your best luck is to go as far from the parking areas as you can before other hunters arrive. They will drive deer to you as the late starters come in after sunrise and start walking around when they get bored. You'll need a good deer cart and a good climbing stand that you can carry comfortably on your back. I always left the deer cart in my truck and hiked all the way out to get it when I got a deer since that was easier than carrying it with me. I would slip hunt as I walked out in the morning or as I came in in the afternoon and got quite a few deer that way. TL;DR: Put the effort in, and you have a very good chance of getting a deer, but it will not likely be anywhere near B&C or P&Y. Tastes the same, though.

thanks for the response, as for putting in the work I have already found some remote areas on Google Earth and have logged them in my xmaps hunt , getting ready to put in the foot work, if my prediction is right since all the rain we have had this summer I think we're going to have a dry winter and i plan to be near some sort of water source on a all day sit when the rut kicks in. and yes I totally agree with the meat tasting the same, the antlers are good to look at but they don't fill the freezer, I'd take a nice mature doe any day! thanks take care, and good luck this season!!!

I am not from US. I never hunted big game before. Only very small game when I was a child. So how do you process the meat in US of an animal you hunted? You take to the butcher? You clean yourself? How much would cost to have a butcher skin the deer for you?

I do it all myself. There are places that will process a deer for you, but I have no idea what they charge.

Not that you need any defense, but just to clear the air this baiting is all in the preseason for deer. When hunting season rolls around all of the bait and feeders will be gone and the deer will only be traveling through there because of habit. Twangnbang isnt planning on preying on deer while they're eating but rather attempting to increase traffic in his hunting area so he can pick and choose what animal should be harvested instead of taking the first one he sees since it may be the only animal. Love the channel and cant wait to see more!

Not true, actually. Feeder will be there all season long. I will absolutely be shooting deer eating corn at this feeder as I actually describe st the end of the video. It's safer and it ensures my shot will be the best shot I can possibly make for a clean kill. Deer will not stick around without the feeder going.

There is no food agriculture anywhere near this site, so deer can get to be in the 120s and 130s, but I've only seen one 150-class buck ever in this county in all my years living here. It was running full steam across a horse pasture and quite the sight.

hey man! I've been watching ur channel for a long time and really enjoy the videos. I'm not sure what your experience hunting is but in this video it seems like youre stressing that the feeder is your only option. correct me if I'm wrong but I think I remember ur hunting in PA same as me? in my opinion close quarter urban hunting (within legal reason) has proven more successful than any other way of hunting whitetails. now don't get me wrong, I'm. not anti feeder. they have there roll as a management tool, but they are a replacement for a lot of the hard work that hunting requires. I've had the most success in small strips of woods in urban environments. so please consider that a little extra homework can be much more effective for making sure a hunt stays safe and successful than a feeder. be easy brother!

No and no. I'm in NC, and I run a camera here year round. No feeder, no deer. I've hunted for decades and have killed deer by every legal means except handgun. About a third have been killed by spot and stalk. I put more work in here keeping the feeder and camera going than I do scouting areas where I don't need a feeder. As far as safety goes, there is no safer way to hunt than over a feeder for the reasons I explain.

Biggest risk here to a feeder are raccoons. We'll see how well the built-in varmint guard works soon enough.

Most people don't even hunt. They pay others to feed their meat corn and do the killing for them then pretend they're morally superior to someone who feeds the animals and kills them himself.

I don't get baiting either, but as long as it is legal in the hunter's state, so be it. If you reside in that state and don't agree, contact your representative. In my home state of MT, it is illegal to feed big game, including deer. That being said, I don't judge those that do so legally in their state, even if I don't understand the appeal. While this didn't personally trip my trigger, I still enjoy your videos TWANGnBANG and look forward to the next installment. You're one of the better firearms-related KZbinr's out there. No baiting at this site means no deer. My trail camera proved that over the last three months. No deer means no hunting. No hunting means no meat. No meat means I'm paying someone else to feed an animal corn and kill it. What else is there to understand?

What comes down to is the individuals interpretation of hunting. While I do hunt from a tree stand because of the region I live in I'm not a huge fan of it. I would rather be out doing an open stalk hunt and in my eyes truly earning it, but hunts like that are limited to only specific regions so d we work with that we have. My neighbors who have corn fields will use up their tags from the front porch. I could do the same from my property but choose not to but it's a nice option to have if things in this country were truly to go tits up. As long as someone is hunting legally, ethically, and staying within the rules and not poaching what's on their property as if they outright own it I see no issues with it even if it's not for me. I will hunt and trap small game on my property, but 26 acres of thick woods gives the squirrels and bunnies a fair chance. After 4 years of living here I saw my 1st female Turkey today walking up my driveway so I'm hoping it's the start of something as long as the red Fox do not decimate them. I'm glad Cameron takes responsibility for how he gets his family's food. It's important not to loose that connection as well as the ability to get it. Carry on and good hunting.
