Man. Almost makes me cry. lol. Petrino got the Hogs back to a place I never thought was possible. Coming off that Cotton Bowl win we were a national power. Then April fools day happened and it's been bad ever since. These Bobby P years where so much fun.

Then we were also exposed for Petrinos lack of recruiting skills, and lack of talent. He wouldve only won seven games with that team, which definitely would've been an improvement in 2012, but I dont think with that team , even Petrino woulde have made that much difference.

Lol hopefully we can get back to this not just the wins but the players back then just seemed to play with a whole other level of intensity. I can pinpoint my high mark as a Razorback football fan: right at 18:13 on this video. We were about to go up 14-0 over #1 LSU, and I remember thinking, "We might actually get to play for the National Championship."

So true. I think he could do a good job of accounting for the speed of his receivers; neither leading them or under throwing. Each time they got separation from a defender, he just laid it in their hands.

Man. 2006-2011 are my favorite years of Hog football. Still pretty young but these are the games I remember going to and seeing such an explosive offense and a stifling defense! Have you ever noticed that receivers were open 20-25 yards downfield as soon as Mallett turned to throw? He hardly ever needed to wait for receivers to finish their cuts and then find openings. I hope Petrino can bring those route techniques back to the offense.

I remember the 2011 season so vividly. They recruited me heavy so I got free tickets to every home game 🔥🐗 great experience. Hopefully one day the hogs will make a comeback. The Bret bielema era made us look like a str8 up joke to the sec & really all of college football. Say what you want about petrino. Yeah what he did was wrong but aye he ain't the only coach out here gettin pussy at these university lol but he had the team on the right track bet a lot of fans wish we woulda kept him if we could have saw what was to come the next few years

I am. Lived in Fayetteville for 22 years and attended every game through the Nutt, and Petrino years. Nutt played not to lose. Petrino played to win. Glad he's back and hope he learned humility

thank you for posting this. i was born in 2000 so these are by far the best years of razorback football i really remember. i remember hearing about mcfadden and jones but not really understanding football or what they were doing until probably 7-8 years later. these were such fun years to watch holy shit. i remember being so shocked after bobby got fired on my birthday, april 10th. was leaving my soccer game when my mom told me i swear to god 😂. anyways thank you for posting this, if you can’t already tell it bring back memories.

As great as the Petrino era was with stacks of talent on offense especially I do think that they would have eventually declined like Louisville do possibly to a lack of effort from the staff, nepotism, and recruits just figuring out that Petrino is an asshole. That being said it was the most enjoyable time for me as a razorback fan and wow Dennis Johnson and Joe Adams were electric.

Wasnt nothing to do with holier than thou. It was blatantly favoritism for a girl that he was screwing, that wasnt qualified for the job, then he not only lied about it, he tried to convince hospital workers and the state trooper that took him to the hospital to keep quiet. They fired him to avoid a massive title 9 lawsuit.

The theme in those years for Petrino were that he had Arkansas boys playing with hate in their heart for the other teams they were playing carrying the flag on their shoulders in every game. We lost some of that and need that real fire back in our players
