Newer Rockford's have done away with those modules "Should be 2013 and newer", but they still have plates between the transistor pads and case! Also from a Manufacturing standpoint, these plates allowed faster assembly and cut costs by reducing assembly time, they can also use solder paste to hold the transistors in place and bake them onto the plates, instead of individually soldering each one by hand! But also if you look, there are jumpers on these old ones, which on normal amps would require a huge and long jumper for certain areas, Rockford however was limiting the distance for jumpers and keeping boards from being a "Hot Mess" on layouts!

The good ol' days when we has the Punch 45, Punch 75, Punch 150 and the Power 300, Power 600, and the Power 1000. I wish I had any amp from this list. The Orion HCCA amps from that era are awesome too. I Just found your channel and I love it! I'm an avid DIY'r and hobbyist - I should upload my workbench sometime, you's like it.

Hi there do you still fix amplifiers ?

What kind of thermal paste did you apply when mounting the board back?
@ThatElectronicsFool3 ай бұрын
For this, it would've been the white silicone thermal grease. Used it pretty much any time I replaced parts in an amp.

i have a t1500bdcp as well and when i try to turn it on the gate drive will be there for a second and then disappear. Protect light is on after too. I already replaced the PWM driver and the LM339 comparators on the drive board. what else could it be?

I have exactly the same amp, the problem with it ,it blown the fuses any idea what the problem Is I will tank you, I will try to fix it my self but your video encourage me to give a try.
@ThatElectronicsFool7 жыл бұрын
It was a while ago, but I think the issue with the amp was shorted output transistors. Sounds like you might have shorted power supply MOSFETS, possibly caused by shorted ouputs as well.
