A normal barber does not understand the concept of facial harmony like Andrew does. i love his insights on how a haircut should be done in order to get compliments on overall apperance and not the haircut itself . this is what a mature barber sounds like well done. Andrew . personally i think the longer sides sissored cut is making a comeback for men. i woluld love if you made a video on how to achieve a squared structure on a meduim length gentlemens flow type haircut (and detailed explanation on sectioning and how to cut porital ridge and occipital for this type of medium length haircut ) thanks i am a long term subscriber.😊

Addicted to your channel. The feeling I get from your approach to cutting hair is such of true enlightenment. As an amateur who consumes a lot of informative barbering content I can say that most of the time the knowledge is delivered in such a systematic/mechanical way, ending with me trying to memorize steps in order to cut what I want to, worrying if i forgot something, not feeling in control of what is happening on my head, why the desired cut looks that way, just not understanding CUTTING HAIR in general. Your channel comes in and erases most of the self doubt and lack of comprehension: I really feel like I´m in charge of what I´m doing. I mean, I'm not a barber, so obviously not really like that, but it all makes so much more sense, as in a "free your mind" type of way. Anyways, thanks for making us mortals understand hair in a deeper, more human and subjective level.

I appreciate the explanation of how to use the blowdryer and style at the end (since this is what I try to do with my own hair every day to get the right texture when I leave home for the day).

Thanks! Part of the reason I started doing these videos (and kept doing them weekly for as long as I could before burning out) is that it’s impossible to make A single blow drying video that covers everything that everyone needs, so I was hoping that by making weekly videos with my actual clients as models I could have a styling tip for everyone, somewhere in some video at least.

His head shape seems perfectly fine even before the cut.
@andrewdoeshair Жыл бұрын
Yeah I’d say he looks perfectly fine, too, but anyone with a slightly flatter than average head would probably say that they’re super aware and usually not happy about it. Having a haircut which can compensate for this and make the head appear rounder can make someone who feels their head is flat feel like a million bucks, even if to others their head seems perfectly fine even before the cut.

My current hairstylist has nailed the style of cute I need for the back of my head. Unfortunately, my problem is still when it grows out. The bottom part still bushes out while the top part grows downwards, creating an unpleasant shape.

Any idea for females?
@andrewdoeshair Жыл бұрын
Same concept applies- less elevation will cause the hairs on top to be pushed outward, creating a corner in the silhouette. This can be applied to a bob, pixie, firefly, or any short/mid length cut really. Depending on your texture you may be able to get a similar effect (expanding the silhouette at specific parts of the head) with heavy layering, like a shag haircut, but in some cases this will do the opposite of what you’d want and cause the hair to lay flatter to the head. Hopefully whoever is doing the cutting has the experience to know what will work for your hair

@@andrewdoeshair When you mentioned the name of the haircut (shag haircut), I found it very helpful because that way I completely understood what you meant. Yes, I understood, and I am eager to try out the haircuts and techniques you mentioned. Best wishes.

personally also not a fan of too sharp of lines on a haircut either. 1. it's not really "natural" 2. it's gonna get messed up in 2 days anyway
