@@SeanHelmsMedia My ViewSonic VP3256-4K 32 just got delivered. I know this model is advertised as HDMI 2.0, however the manual I downloaded said its HDMI 1.4. How do I check the HDMI and DisplayPort port version? Also, does my computer need to support HDR in order to get HDR from the monitor?

All the cables are included, EXCEPT for the DisplayPort. That's cool for know because none of my devices have DisplayPort. I connected my laptop and my phone SEPARATELY without any issues. How do I connect multiple devices at the SAME TIME?

The hdmi is 2.0. HDMI 1.4 does not send anything higher than 24 frames bs 2.0 being up to 60. This manual must have a typo. Graphics Card Capability: Your computer's graphics card needs to support HDR output for you to take advantage of HDR content on an external monitor. If your computer's graphics card does not have HDR capabilities, you won't be able to enable HDR on the external monitor, even if the monitor itself is HDR certified.

Hey thanks for this. I actually am using the same monitor you switched from to do some RAW work. That thing's color is all over the place and it was driving me absolutely crazy. Every display in my house told me a different story, and often times completely contradictory ones. I found this model you reviewed here on amazon because it fit my budget, but no one in the world has spoken about this thing yet. Im going to keep the G9 popping off for web work, but Im glad the out of the box color on the viewsonic is fairly trustworthy....which is a lot better than we usually do...

2’ 1” ft deep but the monitors are brought forward just for the vids depending on a certain lighting reflection Sometimes I use them this far forward when laying back a bit but I also wear transition glasses and do sometimes get a bit close depending on the circumstance.

No but I honestly don’t have any issues still to this date. The FRC is part of the premanufactured build that defines this as a 10 bit monitor. Have a good day.

How is the color banding, i have the msi MSI G32CQ5P and its just horrible to watch anything on KZbin, i know that youtube has issues in its self but want to know if this particular monitor you are talking about has any of that horrible color banding

No banding on these at all when in 10 bit editing and sunsets and skies are smooth as butter.

I have this monitor but I always find the blacks aren’t black in comparison to every other device screen like my MacBook, phone screen etc so I’d be curious what settings you use for yours? When I make black a nice deep black it’s way to contrasty on every other device

I literally just use the stock settings because I don’t want to start questioning my own taste haha. But having two side-by-side to compare lets me know that they are identical and consistent which is more than I can say from prior experiences with other manufacturers.

Sean, I was wondering if you might be able to assist ... I just got the same monitor as you. Just 1, said my master of fiscal affairs :-) How do you switch it to "rec709"? I had tested another Viewsonic monitor before that could be switched to Rec709. This one can be turned to a "View Mode" called "Designer: Video Edit" via the vDisplay Manager. But nowhere can I find an "rec709 mode" like the other monitor.... How do YOU do it?

I have an NVidia video card and change my color settings for 10 bit YCbr422 in the NVidia control panel. You can mess with some of those settings to either go 4.4.4 or sRGB as well.

@saschaschwarztv yes true it’s not a definite selection. I just use modes from my research that are not by definition rec 709 but by color gamut is from what I understand to be extremely close by design. Not sure how else to put it to help get closer.

Why didnt you get VP3268A-4K? I tried VP2768A-4K and compared it to VG2756-4K. VG2756-4K has terrible OSD and really heavy bleeding which you strongly see in the dark. VP2768A-4K also has that at the bottom of the panel but it is less pronounced. VP2768A-4K has a way more reflective panel than VP2768A-4K, I would guess, VP3268A-4K is also much more reflective.

No. It has split screen through the desktop software but it even says on the app, even though it’s an option to click on, that pip/pbp is not supported with this monitor.

I almost went with this monitor but I need faster refresh rate (at least 120HZ) and HDMI 2.1 ports would be useful too. I'm using it for Unreal engine as well as other video editing. Not sure where to go from here but thanks for video!

Try the ViewSonic ELITE XG320U 32 Inch 4K UHD 1ms 150Hz Gaming Monitor with FreeSync Premium Pro, HDR 600 Walmart currently has it at (a steal) $400 Off at $500!!!! I already own the VP 3256 myself (had it for about a week), but that other one I just mentioned to you looks mighty tempting at $500!!
