@@Adam.kmight Dakpo is amazing! I just felt Diddy wasn’t getting talked about much prior. He was given the ‘obscure mid tier’ treatment for most of ultimate’s life. I guess it makes sense tho, Tweek being such a well known player picking him up made everyone realise how good and how much depth Diddy Kong has in this game

I've been playing diddy in friendlies since release, didn't just wanna ditch the character I played in smash 4 because he wasnt "S tier" anymore, still super fun to play even in his ultimate state. Man I remember when ZeRo was playing Diddy earlier in the game I thought Diddy was a pretty good character, and all of ZeRo's results were from him being incredible at playing neutral and pushing advantage etc. But what Tweek can do with Diddy makes Diddy look INSANE, all the fancy movement and crazy combos are just a treat to see, even as a non Diddy main myself!

I played diddy kong similar to ZeRos since I grew up watching him play diddy kong a lot and since I'm coming back to smash bros I can see tweak appreciating the fact through out the years of playing smash and knowing Zero playing diddy kong which he doesn't play anymore but Tweak seems active in the scene and playing diddy kong like he's in smash4 again. Love and appreciate the knowledge you are sharing to anyone who used to main diddy kong or those who want to pick him up because your really good at explaning and mostly understanding the game mechanics and not ignore the best feature he use to have in smash4 and find way to make the character that we once knew one of the best character in smash4 and hopefully in Ultimate soon. I heavy recommand this video and the Art of Diddy kong from Izaw even though it's from smash4 all the tech are still in smash ultimate but the exacution are done differently trust me.

I found a bit of diddy tech after you get hit (not sure if it works after spikes) if you jump and instantly up b your momentum won't be canceled and you will float more giving you an extra 5 units of height

my favorite out of shield option is footstoll, z drop banana, dair, barrels, it does a ton of % and is really safe and consistent

@@SleepyFawn don't do it when they hit your shield grounded, it won't work. it is easy when they do an aerial on your shield. I just use shoulder jump as well as mashing x to jump (i play gamecube controller) while holding towards them.

I have seen the Diddy from Japan. He looks really good with the Barrel as a counter at times. Like projectiles or even slipping on his own bananas on enemy control. Destruction hands down!

I think Diddy has the best spiking dair in the game. The strongest 3 spikes go somewhat in the order of byleth, ganon, then Diddy. But Diddy longs is the fastest by far and with practice and skill can be confirmed into offstage.

I'm also a scrub but I think the z drop aerial is just pressing grab mid air with your banana to drop it and immediately following with an aerial to both hit your opponent and catch it again. But then again I only had it explained just now in this video lool. Can't help you with the cancelling shit I'm not there yet either lol. Tryna get my basic movement and evasion down first so I'm literally spending time against the lvl 9 CPU (I can only beat a 7 rn) not even attacking just trying to get better at not getting hit lol. Its actually helping a lot that's my advice from a scrub to a scrub.

One thing I think you may have missed is Diddy's post-patch infinite with the footstools, but I guess that it's currently too hard to do consistently.

The combos with the down tilt are done with pivot canceling (that enables sliding forward), or it's not necessary, "normal" down tilt is enough?

How do you play neutral with banana????? When I don't have banana I usually do things like poking with down tilt & air-to-airing with forward air but banana ruins my entire neutral with Diddy (I do know how to do things like z-drop aerials but I just don't know what kind of attacks I should be throwing out in neutral when banana is in my hand).
