Sheik is a Smash mainstay at this point, almost as much as Captain Falcon.

Psylux is a shoe in for the next roster what with Prime 4, maybe even Ravenbeak. Echoes of Wisdom Zelda as well, especially as a tit for tat with Peach’s new kit from Showtime. Other Zelda reps as well because as you guys said, adding characters who have been long requested when the timing doesn’t make sense is exactly why it makes sense. Could even see Ray Mk and maybe also Chibi Robo getting in too.

Tails and Knuckles can be in Sonic’s new kit (Up Special is Tails doing his helicopter tail thing, Knuckles could do his punch for one or more Smash Attacks, and they could also maybe show up during one or more combos). Two birds. Then Dr. Eggman is revealed early on so people think Shadow has little chance and then BOOM, we get him late dlc.

Almost literally ANY character from the Sonic series deserves a spot in the game. If Shadow and Silver are just skins and then we get Tails or Knuckles as a new addition I'd be happy. But any of them deserve their own spot. Eggman would be a Bowser Jr. Type, I'm not sure how well that would work but I have faith in Sakurai and Co if hes working on it to begin with.

I understand where tweek is coming from though. What’s really Needed in smash is representations, not just popular characters. And they need to be original game characters, not from anything outside. But at the same time, you don’t want to overload characters from the same world. And their gameplay needs to feel like it can translate well to smash.

Honestly Dante/Vergil seem primed for a spot if they’re really trying to go for some MVC crossover stuff like Haz keeps mentioning. That feels like a way to maybe bridge the “marvel” gap without having to go all out and literally add somebody like Spiderman

Lloyd has been passed over multiple times, being a mii outfit in both 4 and Ult. But being miid twice means they definitely considered him and i truly do hope he gets in. Hes one of my most wanted and he always has been.

It’s so cool to see that the culture of this podcast had evolved as the game has evolved. As we start to speculate, the podcast speculates. I feel like it’s a very good reflection of the community for whatever common topics show up. Glad to have this in my weekly life even beyond smash, even when I’m long gone with the game.

I've always valued music and if anything I like to think about what could've been brought in or remixed. Personally I think they fumbled with the Space Pirate Ship theme I think the original orchestral sound is better than the one in the remix. Some songs I wish made it in or want in a future installment are Red Moon Night Shadows Dancing Valor in Courage and Gallantry Hazardous Highway Bustin up on the Beach 13th Reflection Legendary Dragon Kick I would also love it if Fly Me to the Moon, Moon River, and Moonlight Serenade made it in but 2 of those are real copyrighted songs and the other came from a Hollywood movie.

Regarding single player, Ultimate definitely had the best Classic Mode out of all the games with each route being tailored to your character. Spent so many hours on it.

Wanted to add onto the single player discussion. I much would have rathered them create something like the great maze with a bunch of worlds to explore rather than a world map. You end up with loading screen after loading screen after loading screen. It kills the pace of the game mode completely and is probably the number one detractor to the gamemode.

I think something that made Subspace special was the cutscenes because it showed the characters interacting… in a crossover game. Outside of multiplayer, you don’t see many of the characters interact in WOL. Getting to see how the characters’ personalities mix was what made Subspace rock. I think that’s a big part of the appeal of crossovers in general. I’m not saying that being able to see all these characters fighting isn’t cool, but it having them together in the first place opens up tons of possibilities that I feel like Ultimate doesn’t fully capitalize on.

The best song for battles in Ultimate has to be the Brawl remix of "Fire Field" from F-Zero. I modded my Wii for that song to be playable on every stage, and boy when I saw it got carried over into Ultimate, I was HYPE. I run it on Battlefield more than any other track. Just never gets old.
