Gavin is the best Ultimate player in the world, whether he realizes it or not. I am 38 and have been watching/playing Smash since Melee. He's the most consistent player in the course of Ultimate. He's always a threat. No one is going to ever win tournaments in this game like Leo did. Tweek has remained in the top of this game through the ever changing meta. Truly an accomplishment. His opponents study him and he somehow still adapts. That is where Leo has fallen off, he has been studied and can't adapt anymore.

Dude it's almost emotional hearing how he didn't realize until now how much people love him outside of NA, my guy, you were the 2nd most popular guy at the venue *in France, Glutos territory.* I really hope this motivated you to go to Europe more because there are a lot more people who would love to be at an event that you are at. I also have to add that you are taking on more responsibility than you should, not everyone thinks about some of the things you think about and they are things a top player shouldn't have to worry about, spectators feelings? *They should take your feelings into consideration after a loss.* Not the other way around.

I mean I reacted way worse and I wasn't even there but just watching from afar. If Smash has proven one thing it's that players that outplay others still lose because it's not balanced as a tournament game. If anything, the overly done Wario popoff was in poorer taste, as it is whenever a top character with comeback potential succeeds without having enough balancing weaknesses. I'm going to continue to root for the skill players, even if their chances to win will always be slim to none [and yes, I am definitely implying that some top players with incredible win records are less skilled than some other players that never will get that Major win due to their character loyalty]

Before I listen and watch today’s episode, I just wanna this to Tweek, please don’t EVER feel ashamed about how you performed last weekend, I know the defeat at Tera must have hurt alot but the reason you are one of my favourite players is you push your opponentes to their limits because that’s how good you are at this game and you are part of the reason this Tera Top 8 was one of the best we had this entire year. You got a heart of champion, don’t lose that part about yourself, keep up the hard work and will support you. To end that note, congrats to Gluto for defending his country and winning Tera, he played absolutely phenomenal.

And I'd like to add something to what you said to Tweek. Never be ashamed to express your frustration when you lose. It's perfectly normal for a human being and should be understandable to everyone. And I even think it's better to vent that frustration as you did than to keep it all to yourself. You're an exceptional player and that's why so many people in France appreciate you. As a Frenchman myself, I'm extremely satisfied with your performance, even though you lost in grand final. Me personally, the rage didn’t show weakness, it didn’t show show someone who has problems, it didn’t sway me in any direction that views Tweek in a negative light. It shows passion, you hear stories like Dez Bryant, Russell Westbrook, Chad Ochocinco, so many other examples of people mistaking attitude for passion, I watch you play Tweek and I see someone who’s giving their all to no only WIN, but to be the best, and when you’re putting your entire life, energy, and soul into something, seeing it not play out the way you want can be frustrating, those moments aren’t moments of weakness Gavin, they are moments where the community gets to see the real Tweek, the one who hates losing no matter what, the one who’s developed meta for 2 straight smash iterations now. When playing the best of the best, you expect that from yourself, we always support you and keep your head up Gavin. Time to get back n beat Gluto next chance you get. 🔥🔥🔥

Having that much pressure is impossible to imagine. Then losing a close game 5 in that way, one tech on the platform leading to the lead and tournament being lost after thinking so much about how much people build you up and how you don't deserve it, it's this huge bomb of emotions doomed to explode. Not to mention the overwhelming passion for this game, and love for it and the players you get to compete against. This is something most smash players, and most humans, will never experience. It's easy when you're zoomed in on yourself to find ways to make your actions seem unforgivable, but so many other human beings, including probably a LOT of very talented players from different scenes, would have crumbled as well. This isn't to say you did nothing wrong, but to say it's human to make mistakes. As your friends said, the fact that you're facing it directly through this podcast and this conversation speaks volumes to the progress you've made and how much you care about making this improvement. Improvement over time won't be linear, I think Charles was trying to say this early on. There will be dips but overall you're working hard, and going up, and that's what matters. Stay well Tweek, keep working hard. Those Ws are coming a lot sooner than you realize (also we have the same bday + NJ gang yeet)

Great podcast. My thoughts to tweek if you ever read this: I think we underestimate how much self is put into high stress situations. A reaction is just that. A reaction. Finding healthy ways to cope after is important. Learning how to move forward is important. But having an emotional reaction is 100% normal. Rage if you have to. As long as no one is hurt. Be kind to your self. But find a safe way to let that shit out. Because it's in there. I have a daughter with a disability that was caused by neglect from a doctor. I have had to learn/learning how to rage in a healthy way. Because that pain and rage lives with me. I HAVE to let it out. Talking about it. Just literally shouting. Whatev. Don't beat your self up about processing emotions. Just do it healthily. No shame. It's human. Learning to be kind to your self is fuckin hard. I'm learning it too. ♥️ As a fan I love seeing your journey and human ness. Keep it up! You are great. The very fact that you took steps to do the show and try and be different should prove your own character to yourself. Keep it up. Whether you see it or not we all do ❤

Saw a similar comment down below that voiced this perfectly, but i want to reiterate the sentiment: it sucks to see tweek down on himself for something so rare. Your passion for what you do is inspiring. It's not some terrible vice to care as much as you do. Nor is it embarassing to show it. I wish i cared as much about a job or hobby or anything as you do about competition. Far too many people care far too little these days. Apathy is the coin of the realm, and it's a breath of fresh air to see raw, real passion like yours on display. That top 8 was a joy to watch and you had some of the top moments in it. Be proud of that performance. It's no easy thing beating players like spargo and light in close matches like that.

I don't comment much but the "i dont want to show im pissed to these people that look up to me so much" things is the exact opposite of how I feel. I like Tweek BECAUSE he shows his emotions BECAUSE he shows he's angry because to me is shows that he cares. There's obviously multiple layers to why he feels like that. But just on that aspect about the fan dynamic, i think it's a thing that shows he's human and is a benefit, not a deficit. Especially because I feel his anger is never malicious to the other competitors, anger is good until you cross the line and i dont think Tweek does that imo. Dunno how everyone else feels but personally i think it gains points for me with how much i like Tweek.

Tweek you are an awesome person even if ive never met you i can still tell! You letting your emotions out like that juat shows how much it all meant to you and personally not liking your own reaction is ok!

Tweek I promise you other top players are raging too. I can see Light yelling in his pillow. Everyone deals with it differently. Keep it up brother. Rooting for the growth

I’m Canadian and I root for tweek over every Canadian player. He’s the only player I do that for, literally one of the GOATS

@TWEEK Your passion for the game is why we watch. You are always improving the version of Gavin, not just the version of Tweek. Your mood doesn't turn off the fans, we know you're always grinding and getting better.

we’ll here’s my perspective on the tweet/ grand finals situation. Yes spargo and light have easier time closing sets out. They also have more straight forward characters compared to diddy. Also. They had to go through you to get the job done and they couldn’t. You got it done there’s no reason to feel bad for them. Also also. You have taken them out multiple times before and beating spargo at let’s make big moves so it’s not like it’s a fluke Also also also. You did great tweek, Gultony is tough and I feel like it’s gone very back and forth alot the past couple times you crossed paths. Also also also also lol. Gulto was on fire + home field advantage. 🤷🏼♂️ you are the goat tweek
