In 2019 Andrew Hindmoor, Professor of Politics at the University of Sheffield, will publish his new book Twelve Days that Made Modern Britain.
The book tells a history of modern Britain since the late 1970s by focusing on twelve particularly important days and focusing on what happened on that day and what happened as a result of that day.
In this video Andrew reflects on three of the key days that are explored in the book:
- The 3th of March 1985. The day the miners' strike ended.
- The 10th April 1998. The day of the Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland.
- The 1st of February 2017. The day the House of Commons voted to invoke Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union.
