Twelve learners and driver die in car accident

Twelve learners and their scholar transport driver have died when
their vehicle was hit by a bakkie in Merafong, west of Johannesburg.
Seven other learners were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
It's believed the vehicle overturned and burst into flames. Gauteng
Education MEC Matome Chiloane has visited the accident scene.
The department says it has already sent psycho-social support and
counselling for the school, affected learners and the families.

This is devastating, Condolences to all the families this is Truly heart breaking. These Taxi drivers need to stop packing people specially innocent little children in the Taxi like Sardines just to make money its sickening. That said the blame also needs to be placed on the Parents. It is your Job as a Parent to ensure your childs safety, I know its expensive and not everyone has the money but whwn it comes to your child you cant skimp. If the Transport doesnt look good or safe or roadworthy dont put your most precious cargo on it. Sadly once something like this happens its to late. And no amount of money you saved using that Transport can bring your child back. Parent's really need to be more responsible aswell. Our Goverment also needs to stop taking money that belongs to all South Africans and put it to better us. They should provide Those Buses to Transport children safely to and from school no matter what area.

If Sadtu members were doing their work in the township schools, there wouldn't be accidents like these. Now parents are forced to transport their children to towns to be taught by their white teachers. How many of these kinds of accidents are going to happen? By the way Sadtu=Cosatu, and Cosatu is ANC.
