TWENTY BUCKS for an Auto Stop/Start Bypass?!? 🤯 Will It Actually Work?

Call me skeptical, but when I saw this Auto Stop/Start Bypass for sale on Amazon for $20, I thought it was too good to be true. But for that little coin, I thought I would roll the dice on it. What's the worst that could happen? If it doesn't work, I'm only out the cost of a trip to Burger King.
So follow along to find out if it's worth it.
The vehicle in question is a 2nd Gen 2016 Chevy Cruze, but this bypass is meant for a litany of late model GM vehicles with Auto Stop/Start such as your Malibus, Equinoxes, Traverses, etc.

I did this to our 2017 Cruze I think last year, and it hasn’t auto stopped on us or cause any engine lights or anything so far. Definitely worth the $20

How many miles are you up to on your 09? Over 350k yet?

@@CertifiedShadetree I am up to 357,000 now and last week I had the spark plugs and plug wires changed and 2 out of 6 spark plugs were worn almost all the way down to the porcelain but I didn't even have a misfire. The other four plugs still look like new.

I wonder if anybody's ever done a study with the starter motor failure on vehicles with start and stop is it any higher than a regular vehicle? I'm kind of like you though it's almost too good to be true it only $20 but looks like it works. Keep us updated if it doesn't. Luckily my old Impala doesn't have that feature so I don't have to worry about it but I would never buy a car that has that.

Supposedly the starter is more robust than a normal starter, so theoretically it SHOULD last longer. 🤷‍♂ Not 100% if NHTSA is mandating auto stop, but it's difficult to find a new gas vehicle that doesn't have it these days unfortunately. At least GM smartened up and started putting in a defeat button in recent years. I will post a new video if anything goes awry..

But seriously.. The other way is to pop the hood - start the car - close hood. That disables stop/start on my Moms 19 Buick Enclave. But obliviously not permanent you'd have to do that EVERY time. I ended up spending $200 for the Trifecta tune to tune it completely out because I got tired of her complaining lol

Oh yeah, I did a video detailing the hood method (and the "shift into L" method.) I had the Trifecta tuner on the ole wishlist (and still might if this deal proves to be a dud.) Still skeptical this works long term!! 🤣

Well, that's a cheap fix! Time will tell how long it will last. 6 to 8 years if you barely drive it. 😂 Thanks for the info.
