@@zachkane7378 I remember in the 90s my friend and I went to our first concert together (second grade) to see the Backstreet Boys. My uncle works at a ticket agency scalping tickets. So he got us fifth row seats and we moved up and were on the side. We got all sorts of things like Nick Carters drumsticks, a rose from Howie, huge roll of graffiti paper that Aaron Carter used during his set. Then we went to every subsequent BSB concert sans my mom. Haha and I got really into wrestling and went to those.. fun stuff. But I also went to a lot of rock concerts in high school .. just because. Yes, this is from his journal. And it's also a real life event that happened to him. He basically adapted the music to his poem. This band tells a story through lyrics, videos, social media. Everything is connected. And there's a certain path you need to follow so you don't get lost and can appreciate the whole story they have created. And you will certainly never be able to fit them in a genre. They are all over the place with their music. And you will find that the lyrics are deeper than what they seem. From this same album you should try: -Ode to sleep (official video) -Holding on to you (live at Fox Theater) -Migrane (official video) -Guns for Hands (official video) -Trees (live at Fox Theater)

that reaction of "if i walk into a room and hear you listen to this, i'll just offer you to let me get you a hug"... even before i finished watching, this earned you a new follower just now. one whole person more to follow you, yaaay! good job! :D also, if you need a cheer up, maybe "Car Radio" isn't the best choice to listen to from them, or in general. it's really is a song that's kinda adding to the daily struggles, i usually feel~ but a nice choice for a first listen to them for sure. so, that balances itself, i guess.
@toby.0913 Жыл бұрын
I also like how the music fits the lyrics perfectly. When the instrumentals are slower and quiet, you have all these lyrics going on that make you think about stuff and are sad. But when it gets loud at the bridge, it's suddenly energetic and makes you want to dance, etc. Kinda ties into the whole "quiet is violent" theme, which gets shoved at your face with the ending with it getting "quieter" again, closing it with the chorus again.

I love “Hug the Polo” … Sorry about your laptop 😕 This song definitely originates from a dark place, but I love how Tyler uses the music to break through the darkness and tries to offer hope and encouragement to keep fighting. “I liked it better when the car had sound” - he was going through a time when it was dangerous to be trapped with his thoughts. The lyric “I could pull the steering wheel” was a reference to suicidal thoughts. Someone actually stole his car radio when he was in college, but he continues to use the car as a metaphor. This song is so powerful live. Tyler often says that music is therapy and concerts are a celebration 🎉 I would strongly recommend checking them out in concert. Even if you don’t know the songs, it’s the energy that just fills your soul. Today was the 10th anniversary of this album - Vessel. They did a livestream to celebrate. It’s great to see how far they’ve come and how powerful the music has been in touching so many lives.

The tangents are the reaction I'm here for, so don't feel the need to apologize. When a song strikes you in a way that you immediately relate to it and want to tell us about it, that's dope. Music has always helped me cope with all emotions, good and bad. When I'm celebrating, I want to put on an upbeat or hype song, and it gives me a place to channel that awesome energy. And of course, when I'm not in a good spot, deeper/sadder music helps me cope with what I'm dealing with. For me, it may be a bit of escapism as you mentioned, but it also helps me to genuinely deal with things and heal. Nice video, man!

I've been going through a phase of driving in silence more recently. It also really entertains me to drive with other people in silence and see how uncomfortable people get. 😂 But seriously I completely get what you mean about silence being soothing. I've grown up with a language processing disorder (it's like dyslexia, but listening to people talk) so driving in the car in silence by myself is so recharging and soothing for me. It takes awhile, but I think everyone can learn to be comfortable in the company of their own thoughts.

Think about it, driving in your car by yourself and if you don’t have that radio to listen to music or to distract you/entertain you or whatever then you end up thinking and eventually you start getting deep into thought and your thoughts can get the best of you sometimes and if u spend a lot of time by yourself constantly deep in thought you might start breaking down your own life, picking apart your insecurities and you’ll overwhelm yourself. "Someone stole his car radio" metaphorical, aka his heart. When he says i h*te this car that im driving he means he h*tes himself and who he is or has become. Apparently he did really have someone steal his car radio and he had to sit with his thoughts in silence thus the inspiration for the song but this song is a double entendre. He is also referring to himself his body as the car, and the car radio as his happiness or his heart.
