you met Ned! love this song, especially the twinkly piano sounds in the background. In an interview Tyler said: “Ned really represents this idea of creativity and trying to take care of it and trying to please it, or appease it.'' in the video Ned won't jump into the pool until its full of chlorine, and tyler says he struggles with finishing songs because he's not happy until it sounds exactly how he wanted.

Adding to this. Ned jumps in and takes in the Chlorinated water and changes into something bigger. He's loving it. It's not unlike how we interact with music. In the end, Josh hands Tyler more Chlorine, maybe an idea for a song, Tyler offers it to Ned but he wants none of it; it's not ready yet. Tyler needs to work on it some.

Girl you need to come to concerts with us!! This was the song that first brought me to really listen to Twenty one pilots. I was so in love and confused. I had heard ride and stressed out but this song got me to listen to all there old stuff and really search the meaning behind it. And I’ve been obsessed ever since. I actually got to see them for the Banditos tour and Tyler sang the bridge of this song about 50ft away from me it was a full circle moment, something I will remember for the rest of my life!!!!❤

Very smart by Jes suggesting this before The Outside, will make a lot more sense. Ned (and Trash the dragon) make cameos in other videos too, can’t remember if you’ve see The Hype or Shy Away. Watching you on this journey is something special.

Yes, great reaction.... imma watch it again!! So happy you met Ned thru Chlorine first b4 doing Outside!! Ned represents Tyler's creativity and this song and vid, to me, showcase Tyler's relationship with music, sometimes toxic (like too much Chlorine) bc he has to draw from dark places, sometimes cleansing (putting it over uplifting beats), always cathartic. If you watch again, you'll notice how Tyler's trying to fill up the pool well enough to satisfy his creativity, but Ned won't jump in til its just right. The lines 'when I leave don't save my seat, I'll be back when it's all complete,' refer to the break they took between Blurryface and Trench. And your 'fly-est' verse, the rebel red refers to Tyler's red beanie he wore during the Blurryface era, the mask he could hide behind. Yeah, this one has some deep concepts. One of our faves, for sure! My fave line is 'I've been tested like the ends of a weathered flag that's by the sea.' So very, very relatable and poignantly placed in this song. It's so very beautiful. Nothing's ever surface level with Tristan and Justin!! 💛💛 |-/

Chlorine does this to me EVERY TIME. It evokes so much and I don’t know why or how. Best explanation I got? That beat IS a chemical and the moment is in fact, medical.
