As far as I've seen, it's the only one of glowing eyes left so you KNOW I'm recording it asap
@AnnaJahn7297 жыл бұрын
I don't know if there are official interpretations or if Tyler has said anything about the meaning of this song but if not, hear me out. The glowing eyes are (for lack of a better word) demons that Tyler's experiencing. (I know there's been other people saying the glowing eyes represent society and how they're always watching him but this is what I first understood when I first heard this song.) The line "But do I want to say goodbye to all the glowing eyes" really sticks out to me. Speaking from experience, I know that depression is sort of comforting and that sometimes you'd rather stay in the comforting state that you're in, instead of seeking for help and recovering. "I'm holding on to what I know" I have two interpretations of this line, the first being that what he knows there is another way to live, that he hasn't let depression take over him. He's holding onto the idea that he can get better and that he will be happy again and won't let himself drift deep into depression. My second idea is that what he knows is depression and this mental state he's in. And he's holding onto staying where he is. Because recovery is a scary place, so he's holding onto where he's comfortable at. (Not sure if that made any sense). "But I would rather play a song for the eyes to sing along" with this line, I immediately assume the eyes are his demons. Like his doubt is taking over and he would rather play a song that his demons would approve of, that they would know that they're winning the war. Also the line, "While ceiling fans and idle hands will take my life again." I take that ceiling fans either a. is relating to suicide in a way, or b. is the time you spend alone in your room. Upon googling the term "idle hands" I've found out it means "the devil makes work for idle hands". I think this relates to self-harm, as when you've found yourself alone in your room with your thoughts, your demons can slip in and take control. but yeah that's sorta my take on the song. Not sure if any of that made sense or anything. stay alive, frens

We're the glowing eyes.Think about it, he'd rather sing a song for the glowing eyes, our screens, our laptops, our phones, our tablets, make our faces glow as we listen to his music. We're the glowing eyes. He wants to keep singing for us, not to move on for what's waiting at him for the door, because it's the unknown. He's going to keep doing what he wants to do. Sing for the glowing eyes.

@hellfrr4 жыл бұрын
While I'd love to believe that, glowing eyes have always been a symbol of evil (darkness, demons, fear, bad thoughts), especially in cartoons. This song is about dissociation and being in denial about the darkness in your head; pretending the familiarity is good. The chorus shows this most: "I know theres someone at the door, they called for help of this I'm sure." This is likely referring to his conscience, telling him these "eyes" are bad for him. "But do I want to say goodbye, to all the glowing eyes?","I'm holding onto what I know, and what I know I must let go." He knows the eyes are bad for him, but they're all he knows and he's too scared to let go of the comfort the familiarity provides, although he knows he should. Kind of like "pretending enemies are frenemies" (mentioned in Kitchen Sink). "But I'll kindly enter into rooms of depression, while ceiling fans and idle hands will take my life again." Again, he knows they're bad for him but he'd rather sit with the familiar depression and lock himself away, staring at the ceiling fan while the thoughts tear him apart.
@sladewright57794 жыл бұрын
@@hellfrr I think there is some amount of genuine comfort from "the eyes". He'd rather sing a song the eyes can sing along too. Whether they're entirely good or not the glowing eyes are a part of all of us and there's something to be said about singing a song they can enjoy too. Amazing song and I love how many layers you can take away from it.

*"I know some people who know people who are flying straight."* I wonder if this line relates to how they got their name. They got the name Twenty One Pilots from the play All My Sons by Arthur Miller, for those of you who didn't know, in which a man sells faulty airplane parts during WWII causing the death of twenty-one pilots. If you're flying straight, then you're all good, right? Life is going pretty good, and you have nothing to worry about. But for the pilots who died, they were falling, and they couldn't control the plane. So like they can't control their lives and the ultimate result of things. Edit: Oh my gosh, this got so many likes and I had no idea.😂 I forgot about this.😅 Thanks for liking and replying.😁☺

All of them were different, and all of them had glowing eyes, all of them were pure, and all of us understood each other. We often talked about our parents always tell us that people had always to be right and how them son's friends where all doing good and we all had to do the same. I recovered quickly and I had to go from the hospital, they where my friends and I had to leave them with their problems, I had to say goodbay. But I knew I must let go. It’s interesting looking back. When I first found this song, I was in a much darker place than I am now. I’m still struggling of course but things have definitely gotten easier over the years, especially as I’ve gotten more used to dealing with these things. And these songs and the clique have been there with me all the way, getting me through those dark nights, reminding me that I’m not alone in what I’m going through. And neither are you frens. We’ve made it this far. Together. Thank you all of you for existing 💛💛

Nothing in this world can make me feel more or make me more nostalgic than songs from this album. I come back here every year or so to cry and think about when I was young this band was getting me into music as a whole. The feeling of finding old Twenty One Pilots songs I had never heard before was magical and it’s kinda sad that I’m used to music now and not an 11 year old being blown away by how music can actually have meaning.

Pro tip if you want to save any of these classics *_before they get taken down:_* 1. Click the share button 2. Copy the link 3. Open Google or chrome 4. Look up "KZbin to mp3" 5. Click any of the first 3 websites, whichever works best for you. I recommend this one: ytmp3.cc/en13/ 6. Paste the link in the text bar 7. Click convert and wait. It shouldn't take very long, but it all depends on your WiFi connection speed. 8. Once its done converting, press download 9. If you use the website I recommended you might get taken to a new tab, don't click on anything but the bottom link where you can see the progress of your download. If you don't get the extra tab or the progress pop up, it's fine that steps optional. 10. You can check to see if it's downloaded in your audio storage through your settings. 11. If it has, you can listen to it through there, google music, or an mp3 player app.

do you ever get that feeling of being hit by a thousand bricks because you finally understand a song and realize you relate a little too much? because i just got that with this song and its my favorite and now i know why.

I watched and animation of friend please by "sassy skeleton" and it was beautiful. It helped me to understand the lyrics and I cried the second time watching it. I highly recommend it to anyone suicidal. And everyone else to. It's really good.

I’m crying because this band made my child hood, because my dad introduced them to me and he also allowed me to play drums and I played there songs. Six years later I’m just listening to them and it makes me feel good 😌.

no because they made me too self aware at a young age which resulted in my severe depression. thankfully I am recovered, and love listening to their music for plain enjoyment!
