Hometown is one of the songs I only listen to when playing the whole album and when I hear it always wonder why I don’t listen to it more.it’s such a beautiful song. Love that you are jumping between songs from the first 3-4 albums. If you check out these and learn his ways - the songs from trench & SAI will make more sense to you. You will also be filled in more by the comments 😁. However I also can’t wait for you to also see some of his ‘re-imagined’ & live sessions so you can also be blown away by how truly creative & genius Tyler is.

Loved what you said about the their stuff pulling you in and you're either listening to the song for the fun great beats and sound or the lyrics....this song pulled me in fist time I heard it because of the melody and amazing beat....I was hooked to TOP after this song....little did I know I'd need their lyrics desperately later in my life. First of all... Watch out for that mic!!! Great song and reaction once again... this song is very relatable for me. Feeling somewhat disconnected from myself lately, but that is changing for the better. My personal demons keep trying to make me give up, feeling overwhelmed and beyond stressed out, telling me I can't handle it. Turns out I need to have some time for myself without the responsibility of taking care of everyone else... who would've thought it?? Seriously, my hubby told me I needed to take a break, before I break... but those demons say it makes me weak. I am choosing to believe him over them because he vowed to love me completely and forever. They have only hurt me. SOOOO I am doing just that in 9 days, taking a break for ME... 3 nights and 2 days in our camper at a local state park. I am really looking forward to it!!

@@AxiomReviewsChannel YES... very needed!! I gave up an 18 year career to stay home and take care of 2 grandkids, 3 years ago. It has been a full-time thing for me for 3 years. 18 months later the world basically shut down... then I ended up homeschooling 3 grandchildren and taking care of the preschool age one, still with no time off for ME. Someone asked a few months ago when my day off was, just to go have a cup of coffee and chat, and I literally laughed out loud. She didn't laugh, she looked sad and almost cried for me!!! That look on her face was the start of the disconnecting feeling. So here we are now, bought this little 20 year old hybrid camper in April that I desperately want to fix up. I have no time! So, I am taking my sewing machine and 10 yards of fabric with me on this little camping trip. I'm making seat cushion covers to go with the curtains that I made while sitting in the camper, in our driveway, a few weeks ago. Up until then, I hadn't touched a sewing machine in almost 30 years. Making those three little curtains turned out to be very therapeutic for me and I'm very excited about making the seat cushion covers, lol I'm getting my playlist together including TOP and NF for sure!

Great reaction! Add fire and bones to the imagery list. Loved your take on this one. I would love to see you do the different versions of the same song, too. There's the Sleeper's version of this one that's awesome. Even if you don't react to it, it's worth the watch. But it makes for a good reaction vid, too, because it shows some of the behind the scenes. It's the perfect example of Tyler's talent. He changes the arrangements on his own music and it adds another one of those layers. So once you've done some of the Trench songs you should def do the Storyteller's versions as well. So spectacular! Another awesome thing about TOP songs is that the lyrics will also hit differently over time, too. For example, with this one, I didn't connect to it as much years ago, but now, as I'm in a different space in life, there's so much more to it and I love this one now. You said it before in one of your reactions, and I think that most of TOP's music is this way - it's timeless. For some of us, these songs have really impacted us profoundly. For the FPE. And being at one of their concerts with 'my kind' we witness what getting through it together is like. 💛💗💙💛

as with most of their songs, there are a bunch of different interpretations to this song and i don't think tyler has ever given the true meaning (which he usually doesn't - he has his meaning but leaves songs up to fans interpretations) - i tend to think it's not about their hometown Columbus as they both live here and love the city, but i tend to think it's more metaphorical as you mentioned - like tyler's mind lives in dark places - this would be the dark side of his thoughts AKA Blurryface some people also think the song could have a religious meaning and it's no "son" (of God) instead of "sun" - talking about living in a world where there is nothing to save them or have faith in interesting your journey took you to this song so quickly as this is one that probably doesn't get listened to until way down the line

Oops...darn microphone 🤕!! Nice.... I like your analysis of word "hometown". Fans seem to be divided on the word's meaning. A few different interpretations out there on that word. The fire/bones references is brought up in couple other songs too. I don't know what it means but it's biblical reference. Like other songs you'll hear him saying being "on fire" which he means religiously. That's something i find really interesting about Tyler and fans. That he covers different topics, sure, but some songs with religious reference (and some songs clearly lyrics just about faith), so you'll notice in comments half fans secular and half fans religious, thus half fans religious interpretation and half fans secular interpretations. And at the end of the day they're music is "mainstream". They are for everyone. I trying to think of another artist that pulls that off, but i can't. And he writes the lyrics so brilliantly that both sides hear something (which he has said is intentional). And of course there's the mental health songs/lyrics that everyone can agree on. Also you'll notice as the music gets newer and newer the religious lessen and lessen. Like through the timeline you see the changing, him changing, the songs evolving. And it's great to hear this stuff first cause when you get to the Dema lore albums (last 2 albums= concept Dema story albums), you can tie in everything (psychological/mentalhealth/religious) making the Dema story easier to grasp. Can't wait for the next song 🙂
