its ridiculous how talented Tyler is... the rapping, singing, screaming, writing, guitar, bass, uke, piano, producing, etc... and the duo isn't complete without Josh being the best drummer ever. I really don't think anyone compares and they were this unique for what 15 years now?

You are in for a TREAT, my friend! These guys are so in a league of their own, they've basically invented their own sports. There's no one like them, and I doubt there ever will be. I am so excited for you to discover more of their amazing catalog! If I could suggest where to go next, I would HIGHLY recommend "Ode To Sleep" (which is kind of a mini-documentary about them), Migraine, and Holding On To You. They're all from the same album as this song, and they're all fabulous!
@frostfire94342 ай бұрын
This song- as well as the whole band- has strong symbolism around cycles. You will notice a trend of them in basically everything they do- mostly this is to show the struggle of addiction and fighting against it and then eventually relapsing back into it. The hair symbolism is showing that progress made- and then when you relapse all of that progress is gone (thus the hair being gone) many of their songs have this same theme but it isn’t despairing- it is hopeful. Tyler describes how you can fight against these things and that you get stronger. Breaking the cycle is the goal in his music. But he is very vulnerable with his audience telling about how often he has been sucked back into his own cycle and lost all of his progress. His songs also prove themselves just like the epic loud noisy drop of this song- you instantly forget about what he’s been telling you and get lost in the music- which makes the cycle back hit even harder at the end of the song when the chorus comes back and reminds you what he was trying to convey- not to get lost in the noise and to keep thinking- being to think is the be alive. Another fun fact to note is that when he is in the crowd with all of the fans at his lowest (his hair is shaved showing his progress is gone, and the mask is on) the crowd lifts him up- showing the importance of friends and others that can help you in those times at your lowest. The contrast of that is at the end of the video when he is alone and falls off the stage and nobody is there to support him and keep him up. Amazing song, amazing band. And amazing topics to explore and learn about! Can’t wait to see more

If you're an artist you will love and appreciate these guys - they write and produce all of their own music still - they are the best live performers ive ever seen - they merge a bunch of different genres together and there's a complex storyline behind their music that ties all their albums together You're in for quite the ride

@@TociReacts If you want to do kind of a deep dive into their music, they have a short playlist on their channel called "the story" consisting of music videos that follow the story they have been telling throughout the decade through their music. The songs work very well on their own too, and even if you don't want to dive deeper into the narrative i think those songs are a good representation of the band, since they are a blend of so many genres. One thing that is consistent is the lyricism, so if that's what you're into buckle up because their art is truly amazing.

Trees performed at Fox Theater is my all time favorite.
@acegamer50822 ай бұрын
Much of Tyler’s lyrics are based in mental health. The video is an extension of the lyrics. When Tyler is alone and “just Tyler” he battles with his depression. But when he goes on stage he becomes a performer, someone different than he actually is (shaved head is a different person). On stage he pretends everything is good (wears a mask). And while performing he is happy and his fans give him a lot of energy. But when the show is over and he takes off the mask. He’s just Tyler again who struggles with his mental health. The genius part of the song is that he is able to take sad and depressing music (when he’s not performing) and combine it with a crazy upbeat section (when he’s performing) and it all feels so natural What you will find with top is their ability to mix genres and dynamics within their songs

Their catalog is EXTENSIVE and Tyler (the singer) is a lyrical genius who speaks in beautiful metaphors. Most of their songs revolve around depression, anxiety, mental health etc as both Tyler and the drummer Josh suffer from their own mental health issues. Hope you continue, each song is worth listening to and paying attention to the lyrics. I recommend Ode to Sleep like many others, Migraine, Holding on to You, Lane Boy, My Blood (cinematic mater piece), really any song lol.Happy to be here!

Tyler has said before that he tends to shave his head when he’s been in a bad place and he’s ready for a fresh start. The themes of mental health with them are 🤌🏼 He started rapping because he writes poetry and felt like it didn’t lend itself to being sung as well as rap. Tyler does the majority of everything. And they're super fun with youtube streams and interaction with fans and lore on albums,etc. haven't checked out reactions yet but the songs Stressed Out (which is the song that really made them big and got them a Grammy), Heathens (which was a massive song for an unmassive movie and on the heels of the Stressed out success) and Jumpsuit (which was the lead single off the follow up album to Blurryface which had Stressed out on it) are likely all songs you may have encountered with casual viewing. That's the tip of the iceberg. There's a glacier under the surface of amazing music, videos, lore, etc. Clancy is the latest album release and there's a video for every single track. Have fun!

Blum), heavydirtysoul (music video AND live from fox theatre) I also love whole Trench album, but it's best to do it later, when you first get introduced to their older stuff. The Trench album has a complicated stroryline with lots of symbolism, but besides that, the songs are just SOOOOOO damn good They truly invented their own genre that is a mix of everything:)) PS.
