This is my interpretation of Goner, from the perspective of a Christian. Tyler is one as well. A man stands alone in the snow, with an instrument that breathes like he does. Almost. He sings under the leaden weight of grey, dusky sky and under the weight of his heavy heart. It is a quiet and desperate prayer. He knows he is doomed to die. The danger isn't in the cold, nor the night, creeping over the light from the street lamps. The danger is in his withering and crumbling heart. He is a goner. His accordion creaks like the noose around his mind. He is afraid. He knows there is a way out. He knows he can get a heart that beats again. His breath will fail him...he doesn't know when it will happen, but the sound of the straining noose reminds him that it could be any breath. But he knows...the way out is to know the one who is immortal. The one who conquered death. This is his quiet plea. The stone in his chest quivers and dies..but the Finisher of death knows him. And he remains. The creak of the noose stops. It stops because it has lost him--death has no hold on him anymore. It has nothing to grasp onto. It is finished.

I love Tyler and josh so much and I love and appreciate everything they've ever done but I really miss old school twenty one pilots. The more emotional one, the one where you could feel the pain, desperation and also anger in Tylers vocals, because I still relate to those kind of feelings, but Tyler has grown out of that phase and I am so happy for him because that means he is doing well and I wish him the best but listening to their new music gets me so nostalgic... Don't get me wrong I love trench and all of their new stuff but I just miss crying only by hearing Tyler's voice
