From what I've heard/been told, this song is about a time in college, when Tyler had a panic attack and ended up running into the road and nearly getting hit, being so far into the panic attack that he hoped that the oncoming car would take him out. I don't know if it's confirmed that the guy that yelled at him to get out of the road noticed something was wrong, and helped Tyler, but from the song, that's what I'm getting. But either way, every day really is a new semester to start again to find your reason to live and find your happiness, Stay alive friends. |-/

And every other music video besides the ones that have already come out are all gonna debut on May 17th, the day the album comes out. Can’t wait for that day, can’t remember how many more songs, 11? But all will come out the day the album comes out

probably one of the best reactions ive seen, i havent seen a reaction video where the person goes back multiple times to come up with a solid meaning instead of just nodding for 5 minutes and saying the song was good.

I love how open you are to all music, which is perfect for twenty one pilots because they jump around through genres or even mix them when they feel like it. Great reaction. I feel like when he says "Can't change what you done" he's not only talking about the mistake you made but also the fact that once you do it that's it. I went through a major depression before and what kept me alive was I found a "What if" more depressing than what I felt. "What if all I had to do is hang in there just a little longer and I would have found true happiness" The thought of missing it depressed me even more so I hung in there and I did find it.

@Terell.1 I think for this song in particular, Tyler directly tells us about an experience of his (possibly ending it by running out in the road).. so after telling us that experience and following it up with lyrics like "Can't change what you've done"- I take it to mean that if you decide to end it, you can't ever change that decision again.. so instead of dwelling on the depression/anxiety/past failures, just start fresh with the next chapter of your life or literally the next semester if that applies to you.. I think he uses the term "next semester" because in his experience, it applied to a time in his life when he was in college (I heard this was what he told the audience when shooting the music video), but the title can also apply to anyone at any point in their life
