So much going on in this video! Declan is back and we took some time to install new front seat covers sent in by an awesome fan. Then we moved on to fixing the buckled fenders by straightening out the bent seams before finally teaching Declan some welding basics and getting his first pieces of metal stuck together. Lots to cover so dig in!
Seat Covers are from Design Covers. They didn't sponsor us or give us a dime but the covers fit well so I thought I'd throw a link in just in case you guys are looking:

I built a truck with my son when he was Declan’s age and it was a fight over every nut and bolt because he thought he knew everything. You’ve got a great kid and I envy you both!

Well here we go, "the old welder chiming in" in the comments. 25 year Navy welder here, and I really don't have much to say except, good job! All it really comes down to is practice, the only difference between you and I is the amount of hours behind the hood. You guys could even see that in how much improvement could be made from beginning to end of one session. The biggest huddle to get passed in welding is the apprehension to strike an ark, once you get passed that it's really just all about working on your technique. Great video guys, the audio sounded much better too. Keep up the good work, I hope you reach your goal you guys deserve it.

You almost had me! I was braced for the “you’re doing it all wrong!” post 🤣 Thanks. I’m passable at best. Not enough experience. But I gave him more of a run through off camera. I just want him learning and trying new things.

@@ThrowingWrenchesGarage LOL, Ya I figured you would be fully expecting the welding expert keyboard warriors to come out when you posted it. All to often welders want to crap all over the "new guy" knowing full well they started out the same way too. That's good, skills like that are dying off and even if he never gets super far into it at he will have that experience to keep with him incase he ever needs it, making him a more self-reliant man.

I’ve gotta bend the front fender out on my Z/28 as well. Someone did the same thing to mine before I bought it. One thing I have always said “I have never, and will never, lift a car on a pinch weld” I did once and it rolled the pinch weld over and put the jack pad through the rocker. Did pretty much the same thing as this. Not a great situation at all.

Hey guys love the content,I just wanted to share something from owning a couple Iroc Zs.If you have to pull the engine and it's the 305 TPI ,the best way to go is 5.7 350 TPI not an LS,this way it still looks original and the tpi setup from 305 will swap onto 5.7. Actually what I'm really saying is don't put the 305 back in if it does have to come out anyway.

We may put my 350 from the Chevelle in it. May look to swap the TPI to that.

@@ThrowingWrenchesGarage That would be awesome,I think the only thing that needs changing is the fuel injectors.Im not 100% sure if heads matter, like what year 350 is in Chevelle? Only asking because at some point in time the 80s I think Chevy heads went to bolt in the middle valve covers.Probably ok either way.

Love the content. If your camera has a multiple face focus setting, it may help to ensure that is turned on - keep your faces in focus.

Not hating, just giving a suggestion. I have seen other YT channels put seat covers on their seats. A lot of them will do one seat off camera. Then do the second one on camera. The second time around you are more efficient on camera because you already had practice.

So true. I recovered the seats on my 1972 Vette that included removing the old leather and foam cushions and replacing with new leather and foam. The first time took me 4 hours, the second seat took my 70 minutes.

I kinda like seeing the learning process though. Makes it seem a bit more real when they’re doing it! We all had to learn somehow…
