This is such a wonderful idea! I could see these making welcome Christmas gifts! Thank you for including your stitch settings, by the way. The amazing Bernini makes my Baby Lock Triumph seem like a primitive machine!

One of the many great features of the BERNINA sergers is Total Stitch Control. That makes creating cool specialty stitches possible as well as fine tuning utility stitches to get exactly the look you want. A neck warmer is a fun project all winter long. Thanks for watching Serger Tip Clips Miss Linda!

Hey Gail, LOVED your tip on using the serged sample as a "fabric puddle jumper" to get a nice corner when stitching the next edge of the neck warmer.

Thanks, Shannon. It makes getting a good start over thick fabric and stitching easy with great results. Thanks for watching Serger Tip Clips!

Love this tip! Do you know how you would do this on a Baby Lock?
@GailPatriceDesign2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cyndy, If you have a serger that has tension settings, you'll have to experiment with the upper and lower looper settings. (The upper looper setting will be much higher than the lower looper tensions.) If you have a model with the stitch selector, you can't manipulate the stitch to show both colors on the top side. But you can do a very nice 3-thread wide overlock stitch on the edge. Let me know if you have more questions and thanks for watching!

Gail, is this a double layer of fleece? Or single? Thanks

Hi Karen, It's a single layer of 200-weight Polarfleece.

Which Bernina machine model is this?
@GailPatriceDesign2 жыл бұрын
Hi CD, I used the BERNINA L890, but you can do this technique on any of their overlock machines. Thanks for watching Serger Tip Clips!

Hi Gail, I found your tip clip on serger embelished elastic. Can you tell me your settings on a Bernina L890?
@GailPatriceDesign2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nancy, I used Stitch #8 (rolled hem) and increased the lower looper tension to around 7.0/. The stitch length can vary according to the thread weight (thickness) you're using in the upper looper. Just be sure you don't stretch the elastic as you're stitching. If you have to go over the stitching a second time, for fuller coverage, you might have to lengthen the stitch slightly. Thanks for watching Serger Tip Clips and let me know if you need more help!

@@GailPatriceDesign thanks for sharing this information! I used to have a BabyLock Triumph so I have followed you for a long while. Lucky me that now you are on a Bernina! Thanks again!
