Lemme tell you the situation about Jeongyeon, she struggled w neck pain since even before debut, we saw her use pain patches and neck massagers on a basis. So on 2020 summer she said she had a head spinning pain on her neck, like her vision went dark. Turns out one of her neck discs popped out (the catilage between spine bones). She was using very heavy steroidal painkillers the whole M&M era. She had a surgery on her neck on 8th July 2020 and was on hiatus until ICSM era, she was fully present in the MV but she participated in none of the promotions. Even if she had to she sat while the other members danced. She wasn't in group dance scenes in Kura Kura too. So the sitting kept on until Alchool Free era. She participated in those promotions fully too but she wasn't present in the interviews or broadcasts after the stages, because she needed to rest. You can even see her flinching in pain in one of the fancams and she's trying very hard to smile. Towards the end of 2021 she was diagnosed w anxiety and panic attack disorder and went on a hiatus until their 3rd world tour in Feb 2022. And she's been w us since! And better than ever. Imma baby once so i'm so sad i wasn't there on her hardest time but i'm gonna do my best to not let it happen again, fight the haters Onces!

It's sad because she mentioned this in one of her vlogs I think, she saw doctors about the neck pain but they didn't find an issue so it wasn't until later when she saw a specialist that they were able to get her diagnosed and treated. Probably made the recovery a lot longer, also one of the side effects of the treatment is weight gain which added to the anxiety.

Jeongyeon was not part of the choreo scenes for most of their Japanese Mvs from 2021 because she was on her 2nd indefinite hiatus that time. She was not able to learn most of the choreos. She still participated in other scenes tho.

So out of topic but you love Chaeyoung so you have to listen to Love Foolish. Written by Momo, subjectively one of the best bsides, and Chae sings she "I, love you, love you, hate, foolish" parts. She sounds too damn good. And Basics from the latest album which she wrote herself and has addicting rap verses. And Handle It. Your bias is amazing, you have to check the songs members wrote cuz they're actually the best ones

Jeongyeon was indeed missing from the group choreo for this one because she was injured. It's the same as in The Feels, where she sings and appears in the video but not the choreo. The MVs are still beautiful and well done but I do miss her in those because she's my bias. Im glad she's all better now

It’s so cool to watch your Twice journey as it makes me remember mine. I fully found the, early 2020 after finally giving Kpop more of a listen because of BTS and Blackpink. Twice took ult group status quickly and easily for me. I dove in big time and haven’t looked back since. Yooo RJ!!! So I agree with your thoughts and how incredible this song is, it is also one of my top 3 Twice songs it is truly beautiful. The girls are all breathtakingly magnificent in how they portrayed this track, its emotional but playful and wrapped in beauty , you cant help but fall in love with each and everyone of them. I would also like to say I vote you check out "Better" MV a banger of a Japanese track and MV, although most of Twice's songs are good TBH. Good thing you find a way to post this, I hope you can also try their Japanese B-sides after the title tracks in the future. Jeongyeon wasn't able to participate in the dancing part due to her neck injury at that time, and also I'm a baby once (like 2 yrs?? I guess lol) she's been my bias from the start but after I've known she went through anxiety and neck injury for a long time it breaks my heart, but I'm also glad after she's able to go to the world tour and getting better up until now. 💚

Jeongyeon had physical and emotional injuries prior to the making of the Doughnut MV and wasn't yet in perfect form for dancing (as in Kura Kura, The Feels and others). Now she's all good (i.e. Talk That Talk and Celebrate), thanks to the support of hers members and ONCE! :)
