I'm 47 and this is a topic that is constantly on my mind. The appropriate amount of training volume/intensity. So much respect to you for putting this out there in an easy-to-digest format. I want to see all the masters programming (Bolder, Mayhem, Comptrain, etc.) out there give a comparison of results with 50+ athletes.

Well - I can say that I'd be happy to share all I can from Bolder!

This is super helpful. It’s way too tempting to just tack on more and more mixed movement metcons when the machines will give you all the fitness you need. I’m currently making this mistake, so this video comes at a great time. Thanks!

Glad it was helpful! Machines FTW!

Jason, you may have called this training split approach simple, but it is potent, simply by virtue of being backed by your years of experience and success. Thank you for what can potentially be a game changer for many.

It's very potent. You are 100% right.

I have overtrained thinking the more volume the better. Started bolder Athlete not to long ago and absolutely love it. Not feeling like I'm over training and workout themselves are very well thought out.

5 mornings a week... with 4 second sessions. And I sometimes swim on my recovery day.
@shauninoregon2 ай бұрын
What do you think about a second session being a run? Not a jog, but a run at a fast pace, say 3, 4, or 5 miles?
@JasonGrubb2 ай бұрын
If you've built up to that, I think that's fine. Running can (but not always) be a bit jarring to the joints in the long term. I tend to prefer cyclical machines for this purpose to limit the wear and tear. But one of my sessions right now is running (on a true form). So... I do believe that running can play a part.

Jason how important is a mattress to sleep quality? Are some of the more expensive brands worth the money? Thank you.
@JasonGrubbАй бұрын
Hugely important... not necessarily how expensive a brand is... but how it works for you. My casper mattress has been great. But I'd really like some sort of cooling mattress.

So when you refer to doing 1 session and now splitting up your one session into two, how long are your sessions? Is a “session” a single 1 hour CF class?
@JasonGrubb2 ай бұрын
So... I do two distinct sessions. A first session in the morning and try to maintain 6 hours between sessions. You could certainly consider a crossfit class as one session.

Have you dealt with any thigh cramping from overuse?
@JasonGrubb2 ай бұрын
None... For me, getting enough salt (and electrolytes) has helped. No cramps at all after using LMNT every day for over 2 years now.

I know that you don't personally care about the hidden sugar for your personal intake, but I would have thought that you would care about deception and integrity. Disappointing.

Waiting for more research and clarification on this - I don't think the investigation into this is final.
