Love Lost Origin! It may be a hot take, but Evolving Skies just didn’t do it for me. Lost Origin, Astral Radiance and Crown Zenith have all been super fun to crack

Completely agree, I bought one Evo Skies box when it came out for $130 and pulled nothing. At $400, the set is absolutely awful. 3-4 really good chase cards and an additional 4-5 slightly above average chase cards, with the worst pull rates in history... for $400 a box? WILDLY overrated in my opinion. Celebrations, Crown Zenith, Lost Origin, and Brilliant Stars are the best sets from the Sword and Shield era to me, and the only sets I'd actually spend money on. I think Celebrations is going to skyrocket in value faster than any set since Evolutions, personally. Anniversary reprints never stay cheap for long in any TCG.

First of all buying 1 box is literally nothing and you cannot judge a set off of one box. But there is 7 beautiful v full art eeveelution cards, plus Gyarados, dragonite, Rayquaza. Basically all the most expensive full art v cards, the 4 rainbow eeveelutions, rainbow gyarados and Rayquaza. The most alt arts ever put into a set at 15, 6 of them easily over a $100. With one like $500 And that doesn't even include Rayquaza v, or dragonite v lol. This is the greatest modern set ever. Yes it has hard pull rates, which makes the card even more rare. I agree, not the funnest set to open unless you get a good hit, then its the best set. My first box I got moonbreon. It's different for everyone.

I'm in the same boat with the Giratina Alt art. Sometimes I think I'm just gonna buy it from the secondary market but on the other hand it is WAY cooler to pull it yourself. I have opened so many packs now I could've bought 2 Giratinas for the same money 🤣 But like you said, the pack opening experience is worth it.

When i first started to collect i wanted to master set a few sets. Ive got 95% of evolving skies and finished celebrations. I have prolly 5 or 6 binders. More recently ive started just buying/pulling cards and keeping my favorites in 1 binder it makes it way easier to see the cards i love anytime i want

As a new collector I am definitely more attracted to sets with trainer gallery subsets than the SV sets (though I do like Paldea Evolved). I just wish I was more comfortable spending over $50 on one sealed product just to open packs or even as investment. Buying singles is so cheap (in comparison) but just not as enjoyable.

Kind of a weird question, but I'll roll with it. Obviously I like Pokemon cards, though currently more for their art and as a collector rather than a player of the TCG. And opening packs just makes the cards feel like "mine" rather than somebody else's if I just bought singles.@@PokeBeardTCG

Lost origin is the only modern set I have tried to master set. I like almost every card including commons. With the mix of Pokémon and artwork it’s really enjoyable to open. Finally got my master set and that’s staying with me for the long term.

Picked up some 3 blister packs of this today as my local shop had just got some in, first time opening this set and got 8 hits from 12 packs. Super impressed with the arts and pull rates. Will definitely be looking at getting some more from this set.

Crown Zenith is the best of this era. with that 4 legendary cards. the art is amazing. tons of full art cards. It is extremely hard to pull the Giaritina alt art out from Lost Origin boost boxes. I already did 2 and nothing that good.

Factory Head Thorton is the Frontier Brain of the Battle Factory in Pokémon Platinum Version, Pokémon HeartGold Version, and Pokémon SoulSilver Version. As he only appears in three core series Pokémon games - and can only be battled after the player has entered the Hall of Fame - he is a rather obscure character. I only know of him because Pokémon SoulSilver Version is my favourite core series Pokémon game. Please do not feel bad for not knowing of him.

I went to a card shop with a buddy and I was buying some lost origin packs I asked my friend how many it would be with a certain amount of money I wanted to spend he said like 12 packs which turned out to be 2 packs to many butt I still bought the 2 packs and thank goodness I did because in the last pack was giratina alt

ripping packs = Fun but riiping packs = broke I opened a total of 12 BBs, 4 booster bundles, and 2 etbs. I could not pull the Giratina AA for the life of me. Ended up trading for one that PSA dimed. My recommendation, buy a BB to rip to get the itchy hands out of the way then just buy the chase card. You'll save more money in the long run rather than trying to chase the hits.

If you really want a good collection, you gotta stop thinking like that. Thinking it's "cooler" to pull it yourself is all fake. It's just a 30 second adrenaline rush. Same as gambling. These youtubers don't pay for anything they open, and if they do. They write it off. So don't let them think that opening is the best way cuz it's the opposite. Totally worth trying when the set comes out, but after that just buy singles if you truly like pokemon cards. As someone who has a ton of cards when I look through my collection I can barely even remember what cards I pulled or bought and some of my favorites ones are the ones I got for good deals. Like my 2 1st ed Holo lugias i got for $50 each.
