To understand why Jacob was so upset about the idea of them having sex while she's human ... in eclipse the book, Edward takes a metal flower from the bed and simply closes his hand and when he opens it it's a clump of metal and when he does it a second time it's dust. He's way too strong and the movie does not convey how very very impossibly gentle he must be with Bella at all times.

The chess game refers to the cover art of the Breaking Dawn book. The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide gives more detailed backstories for almost all the characters, including some of the minor ones. One thing we learn is that Esme first met Carlisle when she was a teenager. She fell while climbing a tree and broke her leg, and Carlisle was the doctor who treated her at the hospital. He left town not long after that, but she never forgot the man who was so kind to her, and he never forgot her, either. Several years later, she was forced to marry a man who was abusive, and he would get drunk and beat her. In those days there was no one she could turn to for help. Even her parents told her to be a better wife. When she became pregnant she ran away and started a new life, pretending to be a war widow (World War I). Eventually she gave birth to a boy, but he only lived a short time. During the baseball game scene in the first book Esme did tell Bella she had lost a child but didn't give many more details. She was so distraught after her baby died that she jumped off a cliff. When she was found she was still alive but was near death, and she was taken to the nearby hospital and right to the morgue. Well guess who was conveniently a doctor at that hospital? Carlisle recognized the girl he had treated all those years ago, and brought her to the home he was sharing with Edward. Carlisle turned her to save her life. After the transformation was done she was not upset, unlike Rosalie a few years later, and she accepted her new life. She and Carlisle soon fell in love and got married. Edward tells Bella in this movie about how he rebelled against Carlisle and hunted criminals for a while. That is also in the Breaking Dawn book. What he doesn't say in the book or movie but what is in the Illustrated Guide is that the first man he sought out and killed was Esme's abusive first husband. Out of all the vampires in Carlisle's coven, known as the Olympic Coven because Forks (which is a real town) is located on the Olympic Peninsula in the state of Washington, only Carlisle, Rosalie, Bella, and Renesmee have never fed on human blood. What Bella had during her pregnancy doesn't count. It was donated blood from a blood bank and the donors did not die. Renesmee can eat human food or blood, and she will hunt animals like the vegetarian vampires do. When Rosalie got revenge against the men who killed her she was very careful not to have even a drop of their blood. And all Carlisle did was bite the ones he turned just enough to give them his venom without tasting their blood. Carlisle has turned Edward, Esme, Rosalie, and Emmett. The reason why the wolves can't hurt anyone another wolf has imprinted on is because of them being unable to shut out each other's thoughts while in their wolf form. The extreme anguish and rage the wolf would be feeling at the loss of his soulmate would be felt by the entire pack, which would be devastating for all of them. The same thing would happen if something else caused the death of the imprintee, but as long as one of the pack didn't cause it there wouldn't also be blame or guilt feelings complicating things, though they would still all feel the grief. In the end credit scene Aro says the Cullens have something he wants. A lot of reactors think he means Renesmee, but he has no idea she even exists at this point. What he means is that he has never wanted another vampire to join them as much as he wants Alice, followed by Edward, and depending on if Bella turns out to have a gift that would be useful to the Volturi he'd want her as well.

@@deliriaaragon7743 I never said she didn't. I said she'd be hunting animals like the other vegetarian vampires do but she could also eat human food. In the books, at least, she prefers blood, especially human blood. For a while she's having donated human blood like Bella did. She considers animal blood better than human food but not as good as donated blood. I would assume her tastes will change as she gets older just like the average human. She can't keep feeding on the donated blood forever. I know she would sometimes bite Jacob, but it would be logical for her to do so less and less as she gets older and learns more about what's acceptable and what isn't. She isn't venomous like a full vampire or The-Character-We-Haven't-Met-Yet, otherwise when she bit Bella right after she was born that could have started Bella's transformation right there without the Is She Dead Or Not drama. If she was venomous biting Jacob could kill him. According to the Breaking Dawn book and the Illustrated Guide vampire venom is poison to the wolves.

It’s like one of those things that have a weird set up but not not thinking to much about because it’s actually healthy. Like for flash you have Barry marrying iris. He was adopted by her dad when he already had crush on her. They never saw each other as brother or sister. Just friends to husband and wife. At the same time time iris father considers them both his children. It’s just unorthodox but in a good way

Stephanie Meyer is Mormon so she probably doesn't understand the damage that comes from child grooming and therefore put multiple instances in the series. Jacob can't control it I know but Stephanie shouldn't have done that. Even with Quil and Clare. it's not ok.

Except there is no dominating factor in this situation. First Jacob is not going to teach or raise renesmee or anything else like that. For starters based on the other vampire half human guy he stated that during his birth “the vampire killed my mom”. So A. He doesn’t refer to his father as his father just him saying he was a vampire. B. He said that his mother died. Which means no one taught him anything. He taught himself And because of Renesmee's growth rate and how quickly she learned the piano in the matter of minutes it means she learns extremely fast. Can’t be manipulated or anything else. As for Jacob, he’s not attracted to her as a kid, and is not just waiting around for her to get older. They both just focus on who they are currently and that’s enough. They are not gonna do anything that wouldn't be healthy or good for her. That includes trying to manipulate her. It’s also stated that wolves have to honor what the imprint wants. And it’s also important to remember that the relationships with the Cullens, the wolf pack, the vampire soul mate culturing thing where they are bound to each other, and Jacob and renesme are greater than human relationships because they aren’t human. Their ages, their circumstances are and their psychology are different from human relationships. Which means you can compare a lot of human relationships with any of theirs. That’s like trying to compare a dogs life psyche to a cats or a humans.

I totally agree! Breaking Dawn Part 1 left so much on the table and really felt like it was just setting the stage for the grand finale that was to come. As fans, we invested so much time in the character development and relationships throughout the previous films and the book series, that it feels like a disservice to have it end so suddenly. The emotional weight of Bella and Edward’s marriage, the tension surrounding the pregnancy, and the conflict with the Volturi and the other supernatural beings could have been explored so much deeper. I mean, we finally got to see Bella mature and embrace her new identity, but the film skipped over those nuances that make her journey so impactful. And don’t even get me started on the potential of the supporting characters! Characters like Alice, Jasper, and even Jacob have backstories and arcs that were glossed over. I would have loved to see more interactions and growth-maybe some deeper dives into their histories, or even some side stories about the werewolves and their dynamics with the Cullens. I really think the pacing could have benefited from more scenes that allowed us to explore emotions and stakes rather than rushing through key moments just to hit the plot points. What do you all think? Were there specific scenes or plotlines you felt could have been expanded upon? And how did you feel about the way they portrayed Bella’s transformation compared to the book? It's such a shame that the last film crammed so much in without giving us that satisfying emotional resolution we were hoping for after such a long journey with these characters. Let’s chat about it! The second scene with Bella in lingerie(1:06), she wasn’t trying to seduce Edward. She was actually exhausted. In the books Edward was taking her on activities daily (swimming, hiking)so she would be so tired at night she wouldn’t want anything to happen between them. He was still scared of hurting her until she turned.

@SLK, the twilight moves are based somewhat of the books, and it's supposed to be viewed through Bella's perspective. that is why Bella was telling a quote at the begging of the movies, and I think that Stephenie Meyer intended for Bella to be writing everything that she has experienced when she was human. Then, as a vampire Bella would be able to relive her memories from when she was human and be able to share those memories to Edward because he is unable to read her mind.
