I watched this on dvd with a large group of friends. We could not help but to start roasting this movie within the first 5 minutes. Without the fourteen of us together this movie would have been a slog to get through. Side note: we had to pause the movie at the forest running scene due to someone yelling out “it’s the racing snail from Neverending Story!” Thought my sides wouldn’t stop hurting from the laughter. Edit: spelling

The opening narration is referring to her decision to go to the ballet studio and sacrifice herself to save her mother, whom she thought James the tracker vampire was holding hostage because he plays the childhood ballet tape audio to her on the phone. In Bella's mind she's accepted that she will die so that her mother can go free.

There seems to be a trend developing which is Caroline comes up with the best suggestions for fixing movies. It may be that they should have her record her recommendations and then have Chris and George react to it

If I found out I was immortal the first thing I would do I find out the best long term investments and how money and shit works, and then spend like the next 50 years reading and learning about everything I can. Then I'd try to start influencing stuff, after I get my big brain and moolah

The cringiest thing about the entire movie franchise (to me) was Kristen Stewart sounding like she was horribly constipated throughout all the movies. Everything she says is accompanied by this pained expression and difficulty getting words out because you are in agony. I get it... she is an emotional teen, she is uncomfortable socially, she is... angsty and in pain.

@@petersvillage7447 She has that same "Pained" look in nearly every movie I have seen her in. I even noticed it the other day watching that Charlie's Angels movie the other day.

@petersvillage7447 Жыл бұрын
@@MrJayateabug Pretty much all of her high-profile/mainstream roles are bad to awful (and Charlie's Angel is, to me, unredeemably bad on all counts). However, before she got trapped in crappy vampire movies KS was a promising Indie actress - she's very good in two little-known flms The Cake Eaters, and Speak, and tellingly she fled back to less well-known stuff once the vampire gig was up. The French actually gave her an award for one film, and I don't know if you've met The French, but they're not usually in a hurry to give acting awards to Yankie Pigdogs, so you can assume they meant it. None of this excuses her leaden performance in Twilight, but very little excuses everything else about Twilight either.

As much as I wanted to like this movie (mainly because I live near Forks and I appreciate how the Twilight tourism has brought an economically depressed town back to life), it was so cringy and unintentionally disturbing that I could barely get through it, and I couldn't bring myself to watch the sequels. That said, there were two elements I liked about it: (a) the scenes with Edward's family, which come off as genuinely creepy and unsettling in a way that works for the story, and (b) the character of Bella's dad, the Sheriff, who is just a fun and likeable character (it helps that the actor is actually from the Pacific Northwest and doesn't look like some Hollywood golden boy who stopped tanning for five minutes). The basic mistake they made was trying to shove these elements into a high school romance plotline, which is just disgusting on so many levels. I wish they had leaned more into the elements I mentioned that worked, made this movie about a small-town Sheriff trying to deal with a family of creepy vampires living in his town, maybe teaming up with them to take on the really evil ones that keep showing up, something along those lines. That could've been a really fun movie. Edward and Bella should've been side characters, at most.

Lawl, that not like other girls thing is so true about this movie. As if there aren't other girls who rather read than try on dresses. That doesn't make you unique it just makes you an introvert, or a nerd, or a geek or whatever other label one prefers. I hung out with a whole group of kids like this in school

In the past couple decades I've seen the YA genre explode but this has led to the problematic constant in that these authors are oblivious to the difficulties of writing for younger audiences. There may be issues as well that come with being an adult who believes that their immaturity or other things translates to being able to write YA fiction. It's almost Freudian. An undercurrent that may not be intentional. From the outset this obviously isn't the movie or book series for me, I'm far from its target demographic but one has to ask, given the intrinsic basis of the relationship in it, who is this really for and what is it trying to convey to that target audience? Is it harmless or unhealthy? Mindless dross or problematic material? If it's just schlock then anyone not an adolescent should just leave it. Don't bother. But if it's something signifying a greater systemic issue than it must be addressed.

Fun vid, but personally I'd like to see you pick less obvious choices. Twilight is an easy target to hate, and I feel you guys are at your best when you display fairness and intelligence even when treating a pile of turd. I know it might be difficult with stuff like this, but the internet has hated this franchise for almost 15 years now so it's kinda hard to find anything original to say if you're only going to be snarky.
